If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I am hearing that Pearce has been given another year and Rowles two years, which I am ok with provided Staj is looking to bring in a top quality starting keeper and CB (possibly visa players).

Now I am just waiting to hear that Hoole has been released.... :headbounce:

Looking forward to that news also.

If Pearce is being given a year, that sounds like a development no 2 type deal right? .And I really want to read into that hopefully indicates Kennedy is gone. Because surely he’s not being seen as a number one still.

how do we know? theyre generally blocked out from game time.
weve got at least 2 were doing f all with.

I've watched them at training. That is why MacDonald didn't get a fair go. Same as Kek and a few others. Only Nizzy looks the goods at training and when he got a run he didn't look up to it.
Shabow looks great at training but doesn't quite make the grade in a real game.
Its not easy to break through.

When the f**k did i say Jedi was out of his depth and when did he come through our youth system????????????????????????????

He was just using him as an example about needing to throw players in I think.

But Jedi, yeah he was plucked from the NPL by Lawrie wssnt he. Maybe insert you were referring to how technically he was not a good passer or dribbler so no one considered him? But Lawrie saw how awesome he was at breaking up the play and I’m thinking spoke to him and gauged his temperament correctly too.

Probably doesn’t work as an example though because Lawrie said he was excellent in training and once he got a game proved he was a monster from the get go.

I thought Nisbet at the scumdrone was excellent, his other minutes not so much though.

Exactly what I wanted to say but didn't want to write all that after the comments obviously weren't read.

Just got an email saying there will be some CCM players at Rebel Tuggerah on Thursday afternoon. Pearce, Hiariej, Oar and Rowles are specifically mentioned. Maybe Tom might be sticking around after all, the other three players are known to be sticking around. No known leaving players attending.

Maybe their preference of the two was Jem but we couldnt keep him (based on instagram post discussed here) and that's opened up a space for Tom.

I just got that email, but deleted it before reading as I'll be working.
However I'm not sure you'd read too much into Tom being there. Just contracted till a certain date anyhow.
Probably renting a property to a certain date too.
No point in him going off just yet. He has said he's interested in staying in Australia even if it's not the Mariners allegedly.
So might as well be in Australia for contract talks.

I’m not too stressed either way, I like him but not on the Announce Hiariej bandwagon. It could be nothing but seems like an indication the club isn’t quite done with him. There’s no Pain, Aspro, Millar or any number of leaving players. No Simon, Murray, Mcglinchey, Clisby who we know are still contracted. To leave them out and dangle Tom in front of us one more time before he goes just seems like a weird choice.

That wolves striker has been killing it. Atleast worth a trial. He might be an Aus citizen by now. Would qualify for mature age rookie.

West Melb just signed Ersan Gulum. Would’ve been perfect for us. Huge pedigree.

I read elsewhere that he only wanted to play in Melbourne and had certain expectations for wages, he couldnt get that from Victory or City so stepped away from the league. WM opened up a new alternative to meeting those requirements.

80 goals in 83 games is a good rate of return.
We do have Murray though.
I like to think that with a coach who actually knows what he is doing, and who chose to extend Murray, that we have a coach who knows how to deploy him and coach the best out of him. I do think Murray has it in him to be quite successful at this level with the right team and coach.
I'd like to play 2 up front with a 1st choice quality striker and maybe this wolves guy on the bench.

100% agree.

In my own ideal world i’d get rid of simo, bring in the wolves striker and also a quality import #9 for both Murray and the wolves bloke to learn from.

The Mariners haven't offered Tom a contract

Pain is contracted until the end of this month. Aspro and Millar are gone.
Surprised that Aiden is still here.

Tom has not been offered a new contract. Jem was offered a contract but apparently is was a pisstake and not what you would pay a visa player so he has gone.

As usual well played by Shaun and Pikey................muppets!
