On Murray - I do think with a quality side supporting him and giving him service he'll put them away.
I hope he gets the chance to show and then takes it with both hands.
He also might not be quite there and that is possible. I really do hope for him and us he shows us what he can do.

I hope I am wrong but I see Murray as the next Blake Powell. Looked amazing a APIA, but was never really able to kick on at Aleague level. Ive seen a couple of flashes in the past year, but I havent seen that he will be a regular starter at this level.

It's hard to make the jump from NPL to A League despite what a lot of the pro B League supporters will say. Murray, Blake Powell, Chris Payne, Joey Gibbs, Robbie Younis, Travis Major, Marko Jesic, Sean Rooney, Mirjan Pavlovic, Pani Nikas have all been prolific goal scorers in the NPL and none really took off in the A League. Of all of them, Murray looks to have the most potential and with the added class surrounding him, providing quality service hopefully he may be able to fulfill that promise.

Don’t get me wrong, this ain’t gonna be a Matt Simon ripping, BUT I been saying since he got here , that their playing Muzz out of position, they signed him as a golden boot striker and they play him on the f**king wing , when he got subbed on a striker last season he scored , if he gets a decent go at the position with some decent service Muzz will do great

Agree pinklady, I hope so to.

My concern is tht we have 3 strikers, and none of them are currently in a form that would demand them as a starter. We hope Matty hasnt fallen as far as it looks. We hope Murray can step up with better service, and we hope that Majok may be able to improve.

We are looking so much better in midfield than previously, Oar, DDS, Kim and Duric is bloody great. Keeper is strong, but CB and Striker are very obvious weaknesses for me, in both quality and experience.

Everyone rates Murray very highly and seem to believe all he needs is good service. And I’m not without hope for him too. He ran rampant in a very good Appiah side. But his quality finishing in a very good NPL side is still not the same as creating goals and carving out a career at HAL level.

I’ve been looking, and I’m withholding judgement because of how shit we were last year, but to date I just haven’t seen the extra edge of speed, skill on the ball or strength that a striker needs to distinguish himself and break through at this level imo. He has a better vertical leap than most. And a good footballers head. But I’m not convinced that’s enough. We’ll see. Love to see him kill it this year.

Majok looked a little raw, but in speed, acceleration and on the ball looked like he may have that extra edge, and has an excellent work rate, but I’ve only seen a handful of his games.

I was thinking along the same lines FP.
I`m going to sit on the fence with this one and hope to helly Murray has a stellar year.
However, as Dobbie said ,he`ll get found out quickly if he isn`t up to it.

Duric looks fantastic at first glance
Can’t wait to see him play and I truly hope he performs.
2 excellent centre mid signings from Staj, I think I finally completely forgive him for allowing our lord and saviour tommy h leave!

I'll back Murray to score more than Simon or Majok. I have seen enough when he has been in front of goal and not stuck on the wing. If he plays in the right position I think he will be a revelation that we will want to lock up before Christmas.

That's exactly how he played at Apia.
He scored from a lot of fast moving breaks too. I don’t think he’ll get those in the HAL.

But anyway, I’m all for giving him his shot and hoping he can grab it with both hands for all our sakes.

There’s a lot more creative quality in our midfield now who can see an opportunity, make a good decision, hit a cross and weight a pass properly. Last few years we have been so amateur hour wasteful in this regard, Just on set pieces alone we’ll be massively improved. So I think Murray will get his opportunities,

So...have we got Markovski AND Duric or what ?

if we do, a trial against Bonnyrigg would be a must.
Imagine a cold night down there, watching the football, coffee in one hand pig trotter in the other...ah it doesn`t get much better....

Exactly how he scored in the derby win against Newcastle.

I saw enough in that game for me to be in the pro Muz camp.

Could see Duric for the first time tonight, he’s with the team in Weston

Stensness trialling - defensive depth??

Disappointed to see Matty starting again, not a good message to the camp that even in a trial you don’t get dropped for a performance like last week.
