ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners sell supporters short.... again

I may have missed something but it doesn't really mention why we are going there, just that we are going, it's great to spread our wings, and Canberra and the A-Leage are getting a good deal out of it. Also from the wording it looks like the FFA is dipping their toe into the Canberra water before they commit to a team there? Anyone know when the 12th (and 14th...??) team is to be decided?

Then again I may have misread it... I'm not used to reading anything longer than an SMS, or the bit in the TV Week that says what Toady is up to on Neighbours every day.

Groundwork by all reports is the reason. Looking at the draw we play away for a 5 week stretch is that not long enough to fix a pitch??

there's something like a 5 week break, then a 6 week break, but there's a f**king game in the middle. pitch maintenance my arse.

put f**king fieldturf down and let this never happen again.

This is my fear:

The ccm board will intentionally let things get so bad here that crowd numbers will hit record lows. Then the board will pretend the team has no other choice but to move to ACT.

God I hope I am wrong.

Why would they do that?

Does seem a bit far fetched. Not even sure James would go that far. He may prove me wrong though .... ;)

I'm really angry, but I don't think that that is likely. If they're investing in a football-focussed development the last thing they'd be doing (unless they're utter morons) is taking out the football club whose administration and training facilities the development is supposed to host.

Nah, don't think they (or I) would go that far, but there's something not quite right about all this....

These are hard times. Our crowds are shit but will be great in the future when we are the centre of excellence. In the mean time, let's whore out our club. I'm cool with that. We get money from ACT gov. and FFA, exposure for our region, time for the grass to grow.
The downside is we miss two home games.

This isn't a football club, it's a business. Don't expect too much.

Trouble with being a whore is that you tend to spend a lot of time getting f**ked and sooner or later you will meet a pervert who will hurt you badly.

Well I think some people are totalling over-reacting to what seems a very poor, but perhaps necessary, situation ... time will tell I suppose.

The 'free-tickets' is the right response for those who have bought season tickets ... but why don't they just ask those who can travel and want them to contact them and then send tickets out rather than fronting the two outlets?

I've sent this email in response to Mack Rowett ..

"Not happy!

Why do we have drive 120km return to the coast to front up to those offices during business hours (in day I have before I go overseas so we can drive to Canberra later for home games that aren't at home?

I want the tickets - you have my address - please send!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I want to support a local team not a nomadic one.

If we don't survive long term so be it.I'd rather watch football on the telly than support a nomadic team.

Assuming this is a one off and they won't be doing it again they can make it up to us by offering heavily subsidised bus travel and heavily subsidised o/night accomodation.

Then I might forgive them.

Just once.
