Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I do like Kwaz because he tries hard and provides the occasional brilliance to win a football game but the League, and also Asia, has past the point where just effort and physicality alone can win a game.

In previous seasons Kwaz has been a hit in an average league, but I think his inconsistency will become much more evident as the standard improves. Asia will tell us where he is at, but overall, our recruiting stinks and trying relive the glory days wont get us far... See: Perth Glory

THIS.

Yeah. Because a little over 12 months ago the A-League was like CCFA AA6s, and now all of a sudden Cristiano Ronaldo wouldn't get a gig. ::)

Looks like someones hiding on the balcony again.

Resorting to re-signing a player who was average at best and provides nothing in attack (his primary role, no??) is a disturbing lack of foresight......

I suppose your still blaming Lawrie for this and not the real person behind it all. I really would like to see you pass on your views to the people that control the club. Yes, we are a small club and to an extent I can understand your frustration, but carrying on, like you are greater than god himself, is a bit irritating.

I also have to agree with Dibo on Kwass, he has scored more goals than anyone else at the club currently, and offers plenty when going forward, plus he digs deep in defense when other have dropped off, he has a high work ethic and i'. looking forward to seeing him back at Bluetonue.

Sounds like someone can dish it out, but can't take it.

Sorry, and you are??  Not to mention nothing was actually dished out, so your little proverb makes no sense.

*edit*  Nice to see you edited your comment to something even more childish.  Don't talk about things you know nothing about.

"Second half, we totally dominated, Andrew Redmayne didnt have a save to make we pushed forward and had a few cleared off the line, their keeper made a few good saves and then they caught us on the break with one minute to play in stoppage time.

:-\

Do they think that no-one saw the game??  The one on one with the keeper that their striker completely bottled (how he was allowed to get in that position is beyond me)??  The two times they hit the post??  There's spinning the truth, then there's downright lying...... Dominated??  Let's all ride the lollercoaster to Fibtown and take a trip via Delusionville whilst we're there.

(to those who say I'm all gloom and doom - there were positive from today's game. D-Mac's work rate continues to be phenomenal, there were periods where we played some sexy football with the one-two's and the passing and such, Caceres rediscovered his first touch, and Huke seemed to fit in more so than Saturday.  My main problem is that these are far outweighed by the negatives, and things like this piece of Labour-esque spin masquerading as a match report do not help matters.  If that's what the club truly believes about today, and our ACL preparation, then we're in for a long 2 months...... which is a damn shame)

slander! ha... i made a joke about your hair and your shirts while implying you're clutching at straws in your criticism of us re-signing kwas. similar jokes to what many others have done. little bit thin skinned there?

besides, to be slander it has to be malicious. it certainly wasn't malicious - it was facetious. it also has to be false...

Hey, I'm not "doing a Razorback", there were some positives.  :p

And what about the club (except the impending Asian embarrassment) is their to look forward to. The scum have a better chance than us of pregrssing past the group stage. The deluded optimism by some on this forum is a joke FFS wake up to yourselves.

i'm no more likely to agree with someone because they call me deluded than i am to ignore attacking players' scoring records when considering whether they're a decent player.

FWIW - people on here getting antsy won't change the way the team actually performs. the team will prepare and do their best, and they will be judged on their performances. i know that, you know that, everyone else knows that - let's see how they actually go rather than pronouncing them dead before even seeing a corpse.

Yeah Serious, none of that deluded optimism you've been spreading.

I saw a few snatched moments of the game between drop outs, visitors and phone calls, but in those moments two things stood out - 'couldn't hit the side of a barn', and 'defence still leaks'!

TBF I have said Boro where dead against both opponents in the last week and have come out with 2-0 wins. It is a perfectly fine for supporters to prepare themselves for the worst and then be pleasantly surprised when it doesn't all end in doom and gloom.

Of course some one like James expects all their teams to be winning every trophy going and if the Mariners don't do the quadruple next season he will be annoyed and devestated.

Sigh, when are we going to get some good news?!
It seems like the mariners have gone from the centre of football excellence to a victim of negative publicity and poor results, has all this bad hype just been a consequence of increasingly harsh forum criticism combined with some conspiracy theories of love childs and favourites?

Im not sure how but somewhere along the line we went from being proud to not be wooden spooners, to envying the jets for their latest signings, news flash, we had the exact same oppurtunities as the jets, we could of signed costanzo and made him captain to whip wilkinson into shape, we could of wined and dined chippers wife and told heff to get his ass up to midfield or f*ck off, we could of even had a stab at NTS, he is better than O'grady all round and people are talking about having O'grady back just for his aerial presence? Oh please...

I dont know if its just the credit crunch or the static posture that the mariners as a club seem to be adopting, but im finding it increasingly hard to get excited about coming on this forum anymore, i used to check it every day in the hope that we had a new prospective signing or that someone was playing out of his skin, now i just log on and hope we didnt lose by more than 2 goals and that Shane Huke had a decent game, yes it really has become that sad...
