Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners Preseason 2019

Wollongong don't play this weekend, or maybe one of the NPL sides that didn't make the finals like Sydney Olympic or Mt Druitt

Yeah that’s what I was thinking, a Sydney team that didn’t make finals.
I’m loving these NPL friendlies. Good speed to the games, strong challenges high pressing forcing our boys to work hard. And a subtle reminder to a few of the boys what they could be playing in the future.
And I hope we get more and more pre season streams!

Interesting that Newcastle play friendlies against 3 other A league sides in Roar,Glory and Sydney and they also play us.
So far our only A -League opposition Roar in the Cup,and Newcastle...

Aside from Ziggy who is our superior back four?

I'd give you the midfield but cannot agree with your striker assessment.

Is this a joke Mick?

This year we have Tonyik and GG as starting 11 quality CBs. We also have Ziggy can cover to starting 11 quality while being an established RB.

We also have Rowles who is starting to be required quality basically able to cover any of the back 4 spots while probably being our starting 11 LB.

Our forwards are all very decent reserves grade strikers. Bring in the Starting 11 striker and we are in good shape.

Our best CBs last year were a guy that played a few games at the end of the season and a DM that filled in there

I am not joking. The names you mention (except Ziggy) would be bench players in any other A-League team, bar Wellington; and none are a scratch on Aspro from last season.

A year ago people would have said the same thing about Calver yet he ended up being a critical part of Sydney's back line in a grand final winning year.

And will probably be back on the bench this season. Our current three centre back are not as good as Calver and they are certainly not “superior” defenders as Wombat stated, therefore my comment that they would not start in any other A-League team (bar Welly) still stands.

We should have locked Aspro in but we didn’t. I need to see more but so far GG and Tonyik look to be at Aspro’s level and above Cisse and Golec.
GG was starting for Wanderers each week wasn’t he and my Wanderers contact said he was close to their best each week.

I am still calling for another CB but I’m happier than I was this time last year when we played Rowles at RB and Golec at LB.

GG only played seven games for WSW.

In March 2019, Gallifuoco returned to Australia, signing with A-League club Western Sydney Wanderers as an injury replacement player.[15] He made his debut for the Wanderers as a late substitute in their 4-1 win over Brisbane Roar FC on 8 March 2019. He was released by the club in May 2019
