ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

wouldn't you rather trust all the advertising more than the postings on this forum?

Thought the person who posted 6pm might have got it from another source i.e CCmariners.com.au

but anyway, I will be there. Im keen to spend my $10 on watching some new signings and triallist's at what I hear is a good ground/stand to watch from.
I hope we can get a decent core support for this as Sydney will have a few there with the hiding they took at Syd United last week.

LEICHHARDT OVAL may have a permanent place in the hearts of rugby league fans but tonight it will have its credentials tested as a top-flight football venue when Sydney FC seek to maintain their unbeaten pre-season run, against the Central Coast Mariners.

Vitezslav Lavicka's team has clocked up no less than nine straight victories since they began preparations for the A-League season, sending an ominous warning that the Sky Blues mean business after a forgettable campaign last season.

The Mariners have had to engage in a shortened pre-season to give the players a break after a stretch of matches that included the regular season, two finals matches and then a disastrous foray into the Asian Champions League.

The Mariners haven't won a competitive fixture this year but have chalked up a handful of friendly and trial wins, although the most notable - a 1-0 win over North Queensland - suggests there's still plenty of improvement required in Lawrie McKinna's side.

"We've only been back for a week and this whole preparation is obviously going to be shorter than usual but we've already put in some very strong sessions, [which] have been great for the boys," McKinna said yesterday. "There's lots of competitiveness in the squad and even though we've copped a few injuries, most of the boys trained really well and look pretty fresh."

While Sydney are committed to finalising their squad with an established central defender - a deal they are hoping to seal announce this week - the Mariners have more room to move and are looking to fill an under-21 position and a further two senior spots.

Former Hearts, Walsall and Kilmarnock attacking midfielder Gary Wales is in the box seat and will start tonight's match as part of a week-long trial, which will also take in matches against Belconnen and an ACT-select team in Canberra.

The Mariners will be without Dylan Macallister, Matt Simon, Andrew Clark and Brad Porter due to injury

Just a bit of an update on some of the new players tonight:

Doig - Solid at the back, distribution was good, tackling strong and never shut up and organised the whole game. Will be a terrific signing IMO.
Garry Wales - workrate was phenominal. Never stopped playing in the attacking mid role. Could be a good signing if we pick him up.
Korean triallist - shite
Milos Lujic - our new under 21 signing. Played in the unfamilar role of striker tonight and had liitle time to impress. Looks like a decent prospect.
Nikky Travis - almsot just off a plane and given about ten minutes. Distribution was top notch and looked very dynamic. Also looked the splitting image of Omni which was a concern. Time will tell but I am very excited at this signing.

We played a 4-2-3-1 formation and this worked ok but with Boogs at right back and Heff being kept back by an attacking Koffee Danning the fullback could not get forward and our attack sufferred.

If that is the best Sydney can do with their massive preperation then i have little concern for them. McFlynn is just plain garbage.

We have massive improvment in us and I am very heartened by tonight's result.
