Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Mariners Pre-season

AN ITALIAN midfielder who once scored a goal against Real Madrid at the legendary Estadio Bernabeu has begun a one-week trial with Central Coast Mariners.

Giorgio Di Vicino is one of six triallists who will be involved in the Mariners' short tour to Queensland at the end of this week as coach Lawrie McKinna begins rebuilding the team following a disastrous conclusion to the last A-League season and a disappointing Asian Champions League campaign.

Di Vicino, 28, has played for 10 clubs in the past 10 years, and was released by Serie C side Pescara during the January transfer window. While on the books of Napoli early in his career, he scored in a pre-season friendly against Real Madrid.

Central Coast have four import spots still available, and will also trial two Serbian players, Vukasin Ristic and Dejan Zivkovic, Englishman Jamie Smith (just released by Crystal Palace) and Welsh midfielder Matt Crowell (on the books of English non-league side Northwich Victoria). Former Australian youth international Rostyn Griffiths is also hoping to earn a contract in matches against Queensland state league side Logan City in Brisbane on Friday night, and against A-League newcomers North Queensland Fury in Rockhampton on Sunday evening.

North Queensland have just returned from a four-day trip to Singapore, where they lost 1-0 to Tampines Rovers in their first-ever official match last weekend. Marquee star Robbie Fowler was rested because of a minor hamstring strain, much to the frustration of the 3000 fans at the compact Jalan Besar Stadium. His visit had been heavily promoted, with premium tickets costing $S25 ($21.55) - about five times the entry price to a local S-League game.

Australian youth international Jason Davidson, meanwhile, will begin a four-day trial with Newcastle Jets today. Davidson, 17, has spent this season with Hume City in the Victorian Premier League, and returned last night from Hong Kong, where he has been playing for the Australian under-18 side.

In other news, Sydney FC have signed Australian under-17 international Kerim Bulut, and the promising striker is expected to be included in the squad for tomorrow night's pre-season trial against NSW second-tier side Northern Tigers at Asquith. Sydney will also give two triallists, former Socceroos winger Nick Rizzo and Uruguayan-Australian Gustavo Latronico, a second chance to impress after they appeared as second-half substitutes against Sydney Tigers last week.

Melbourne Victory have parted ways with first-choice goalkeeper Michael Theoklitos after he rejected a new contract offer in order to continue exploring his options overseas.

How was the goal conceded Mick? Was it from a corner, penalty or for open play? Did we have a defensive problem or was it just good attacking football from our opponents? Any comments on the goal keepers role in the goal?
