ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The thing is Style, you would have known this if you went looking for the information rather than blame the club. Like I said above, if you're someone that likes all the info, then start embracing some other forms of media. It wont hurt you and you dont even have to admit you do it. You'll just be more informed. Win win.

I can see your point Scott but the first I heard about the meeting was the day after.

I was exploring the YA thread for the first time & clicked on the link which took me directly to the info that I quoted originally.
The way that Carly had written the open invitation lead me to believe that it was the start of a new thread not part of an ongoing one, thus I didn`t feel there was a need to look for any other information about it.

I didn`t realise that as I was composing my comment Deej had posted his comment saying it was the previous night.(note the edit)

As a meeting with the Club had been mooted previously in the "GENERAL" section I posted my comment here because I was genuinely interested in getting more involved with the club.

I have only lived on the Coast for 4.5years & have not been involved with local football here.

However,as a person with over 30years involvement with both junior & senior State league level football (both male & female)I was encouraged by former CCA officials to get involved further with the Mariners.

I have spoken numerous times LM & chatted to PT prior to the Grand Final about getting involved & saw the meeting as the perfect opportunity to test the waters. That`s why I was disappointed that I missed it.

My fault? Maybe, but other factors come into play.(Like the multiple cross threads.

The Mariners crowds, active support & memberships have declined since I first became a fan, but I stuck with it. Through all the shit football we played in the league & through the disaster of the Asian cup where the football was so bad each game had less & less fans.(as you & others did no doubt.

Last season was the reward for all of that & I must admit that I enjoyed travelling to Brisbane,Caxton St & the grand-final with the YA.(Didn`t see to many at the Calypso afterwards)

Therefore, as an outsider,I saw that meeting as a way for the club to re-connect with the fans & to build on the euphoria of that match.
A well publicised open meeting may have drawn 1000 fans.

Maybe I placed more importance on such a meeting than the Club or others here did.

Just my opinion ...for what it`s worth.

It was said earlier, but I think the idea was to connect with the core. For 3 or so years there has been some degree of disquiet among core people with regard to the club's attitude toward active supporters in particular.

The central group of the Yellow Army has clearly made massive strides to improve that relationship and the Club has come to the party (huge congratulations to both).

I think the meeting was meant to reach out to that core, rather than being a 'mass meeting'. That means that they'd have been looking to have the 'regulars' at YA functions, and communicate through those regular channels. They did exactly that, and I can't fault them.
