ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Marcos Flores gets it

Are you saying we are still a chance to sign him ... given Phil said we have enough mids, before Judas took Berine I guess...

Just on Judas, Popa and most other clubs ... Marcos's name has not even come up as a rumour ...
Because the cynical professionals at the football clubs deem him as ineffective; they don't value him by his engagement with the community.
I think Moss has moved away from the Arnie reliance on a No.10 and is shaping the team in his own way. Flores was as much a duck out of water as he was brilliant.
This struggle between the unreliable genius and the reliable unspectacular professional has been played out in football since the term soccer was invented. It is rose tinted romanticism against cold hearted realism. Cold hearted coaches tend towards those they can rely on while the romantics lament the loss of a genius.

I just don't think Marcos' technical ability makes up for his perceived one dimensionalness, if that makes sense. He is a good provider, a "classic #10", from the way i look at it. But as seen at Victory when he was played as a "false nine" he wasn't as effective. The reason why Arnie wanted him was because he relied on the classic 10 a lot more than Mossy does. Not many teams in the A-League use a classic 10, and what Marcos lacked in his goal scoring ability he made up in his creating ability. But with a knee reco done, could his abilities still make up for his lack in other areas?

A good parable is Kaka. He was never terribly consistent, but when he was on-song he was one of the best in the world. His knees went, he got shafted, he returned to Milan in more of a heart than head decision. Visibly not as physically effective as before he left, but there are still the flashes of extreme talent.

I would still rather have Marcos as a #10 feeding Duke, than any of our other options. I think Kim is very lightweight and has nowhere near the skills or creativity of Flores. And if we get Wee Mac back...we saw how well they were gelling before they were split up. But.......it's not going to happen, so no point dwelling on it.

He's still kicking around back home in CCM gear talking about coming back to Australia for his dog Cipi.

A sign he thinks he might be re-signed by CCM?

Sounds like Newy to me -
1. Spotted at Newy game
2. Twitter - Could be signing for a team with a NEW a league coach
3. Insta - Quoting Newy boss

CCM clothes prob only aussie clothes he has. Might be a simple dig at us as well.

Stubbins and Flores would have worked together at Adelaide too.
Think he may have even been the one who brought him to AU. If not have read somewhere they had a lot to do with each other in AU.

Personally think it Newy or no where now.

Our decision to let him go is going to bite us on the arse big time. Bad enough that he'll be primed for big games against us, it'll be with the scum. Not going to enjoy this.
