Thought we'd go to the supposed Mariners base at Club Tuggerah to watch the first leg but getting treated like second class citizens.
The only main telly the game is on has the worst picture in the place, with no sound atm...
All the staff in Mariners shirts but couldn't be less helpful about the game. Very odd - oh well.

Ryan has been superb. Wilko has been solid. Amini has been good as has Berni.
Rogic and Hutch have been terrible and everyone else has been second rate.

For me it was no foul or penalty from Rose and he shouldn't have a yellow. Then Broich jumps into Wilko with his forearm up before Wilko had made a move. Wilko protects himself and gets a yellow. Absolute bullshit. Like the Nagoya manager Broich has been hyping our 'physical' play all week and Strebre has fallen for it.

I didn't think it was a penalty at all.

Didn't think Wilko should have been booked either and Nicholls clearly should have been.

Fox only have 1 angle up at the moment, but the penalty looked about as blatant as they come. Took out his legs, completely missed the ball. You're right about Wilko though - Delovski was conned on that one.

Scrappy, unlucky goal though. Not like Matty to drop those ones.

Arnie rolled the dice with a Christmas tree formation, hoping for a draw or a steal on the break with the win to come next week.

Unfortunately Roar were too good.

Admire Swannee's passion but he shpuld know where to draw the line.

Rogic too slow to be an attacking mid and not creative enough. Can hold the ball and turn and shoot, should be turned into a striker in the future.

When we did break there was not enough support for Bernie who had to beat too many defenders.

Need to return to 4 4 2.

Hopefully we can snatch a 3-0 next week and get a week off.

Fire up it is only half time.

Very lack lustre. Played like we're happy just to win the Plate.

Capt'n Gus - spot on. Vast difference in intensity between them and us. We were being pressured all over the park.

Turnovers were woeful. Referees likewise.

Some great positions for Ibini, but the touch, aaaagggrrrhhhh!

A few glimpses of what we are capable of, but far too few, and most not even close to the final third.

Credit to Brisbane. They wanted to prove a point and they did.

Will be very hard to come back from that at Bluetongue.

FAAARK.

The second half was much better but the subs killed us ( presume it was due to upcoming ACL game). Simple fact is, without Bernie we have nothing upfront. Rogic was lazy but was starting to look good once he came back into the middle of the park....so both substitutions hurt us badly.

We looked tired and lazy tonight. We also looked sloppy and we panic far too much. Execution was poor.

Ryan. 8. Could have done better on both goals but overal he was exceptional. MOM
Rose 6. Poor
Wilko 7. Tried hard.
Dutchy 7.5. Caught out a couple of times in the first half but imperious in the second.
Bojic 5.5. Very poor.
WeeMac 5.5 his worst game of the season. Turned into blind alleys in attack and didn't work hard enough defensively.
Hutcho 6. Rank in first half but got a bit better in second half. No tempo to his game.
Amini 7. Tried hard but faded badly.
Rojic 6. Totally lost when told to play in a forward position but improved once we improved our shape. Still looked classy at times.
Bozanic 6. Similar to WeeMac and also didn't do enough defensively.
Bernie 7.5. Our only attacking option. Left isolated with zero support from the midfield.

Only decent sub was McBreen.

We need to go back to 442.

We worried Brisbane for 25 minutes but were not really at the races tonight.

Redemption starts next Sunday.

Top advice Mario. While your at it why not throw Hutch in goals and play Ryan up front with them??

It was a tough gig for Bernie up front on his own most of the game but he still made the runs. Unfortunately touch and finish let him down today. Painful to watch them constantly pressuring us while we were knocking it around the back and then we'd just let them com at us. Was hoping we could come out of 1-0 down but not to be. Big ask next Sunday but we did it against Newcastle a few years back.

I agree also, we need to go back to the 4-4-2

Why the hell would you experiment on a game like this??

Our attack was inept. Nobody seemed to have a clue what anybody else was doing - nobody was linking up well with anybody.

e now have to either beat them 2-0 or 4-1 at home just to draw. I can't see us keeping them scoreless, nor can we score 4 goals.

So we're stuffed. In that match we've thrown away our home final - but then again, Brisbane looked like a team that's going to win the Grand Final 2 years running, while CCM looked like a team that can't handle the important matches.
