At last........

Btw, Dibo, Bozanic is on loan from Reading to Woking FC - a Conference club. We all know he can do better than that, and he might jump if offered a chance to come back here when his contract with Reading expires in June. Particularly if Reading ends up offering more of the same...

why not sort these things after we've had a look around? for all the claims of other people being passengers and only being re-signed because they're in LM's good books, here's someone who may not exactly be in the good books but isn't exactly lighting the world on fire on the park either.

must be on reduced $$$ (to reflect that at best he'll be a bit-part player) so we can firm up the numbers to offer others.

He did more than hutch and especially osman the other night. For him to be back to bitpart, they need huke to step up to cover jedi, then someone to cover osman, then hutch to stay in front of him.

Personally I would like to see porter and a tall dm in the middle. Bring in a specialist rb with some height and pace.

I wasn't singing Hutch's praises either, and Osman is gone. I'd rather not have Hutch as our attacking outlet.

Definitely have Porter in MF but the pressure's really on there - he's a handy player who needs to take the big step up this season.

Boogard needs to step up too - there's another player with loads of potential but he needs to make this coming season his. If Wilko continues his poor run and isn't doing much leading (as it often seems, sadly) then he needs to be driving the line himself. Leadership is not just for the man with the armband. It'll take some pressure of Wilko too.

Anyone! As long as they play a better style of football - for the full 90 - than our current bunch of players and able to last most of the season without breaking down with injuries all the time.

Quite frankly if a player is from Mars, or used to play for the Taliban 11 in Afghanistan just prior to 9/11 I couldn't give a f**k if he is going to play very good and give dickheads like Musc**t something to think twice about before committing  a foul on them.

We need one of these:

...and maybe one of these:

And someone who shoots as straight as this guy and is just as fearless (Matt can't do it all by himself!)

Maybe I should send a copy of these photos to Lyall so he can show Lawrie what's needed when he sits down to coffee on Friday?  ;) ;D

i'm with you clarence - i don't particularly care where they're from (though i'd rather not have war criminals, raging stalinists or fascists or complete nutjobs at the club...).

if they're good enough, they're good for us.

i thought they said he was in talks with newcastle

maybe it was a 1 year deal there i heard, that 1% could be me being wrong

it seems most teams have realised in this country you need a hard as cb to run the show, hopefully we follow the others

I thought you'd be quite happy with a Stalinist or two? But I do draw the line at ex- Newcastle players OK?

Well im just happy that someone from within the club has finally made some sort of statement because it seems to me people are losing interest in the Mariners, our home crowds of late havent been good at all and i guess it is alot to do with the sub-par performances of the team but we also need to be playing sexy futbol, alot of people would stop paying their hard earned coin to watch a bunch of guys hacking it up the park ala MAA6 style, no offence to anyone in AA6 afterall im one ;)

We have holes all over the park and if Mrdja is off contract we should seriously let him go, my wish list:

1 x Tough and mobile defender with leadership qualities (Danny and Wilko fail in this department)
1 x Creative attacking midfielder
2 x Fast wingbacks
1 x Striker

I am happy with Huke in Mile's old position, he can do the job well - Its time to improve the squad, thank god Osman is gone too!

I think it is definately time to bring porter into the middle, to his prefered role, and give him a chance to shine. He has done well to cement the rb role, but he is not physically suited to the position, and the time would have been better spent IMO working him into the midfield.

Wilko on the right, with a new quality cb could do the job well. Coyne for instance. Or someone more mongrel.

Ljubo, Costanzo or Todd were available but we didnt/couldnt do the deal.

Loved Ange winding up the Brazillian guy last night, real mongrel CB.

What happens to the "golden child" if Porter plays mid field?

NS,
I'd even dare to test the market and have Danny listed for transfer in June.
Quite frankly my ranking of him has gone down since he got sent off at the GF. Also, the great showcase that Bosnich gave everyone about how a goalie COMMANDS the penalty box and DIRECTS the defenders was something that Danny hasn't got a grip on. The Kawasaki 2nd goal in Japan was gettable for a class goalie and Danny didn't get down to it. So maybe get a decent offer to Bosnich and if he accepts we have a defence line playing tighter within days!

Adelaide seems to be having all sorts of trouble and if Jamieson is still with them he'd be one player to try and snap up as a WB.

If you want TWO WBs then you'll have to let Heff go then? His runs in MF haven't been convincing and upfront he's quite prone to stuffing up his one and only chance at this level. His technical deficiencies are starting to show.

Also quite happy with Mr. Huke in CDM (Jedi's old role), from the little I have seen he shows some composure & good decision making under pressure.

Ange is a quality player, even with his shot knees - his reading of the play is exempliry which makes up for his lack of pace.

Hopefully our pockets are a little deeper next time someone like him is available to us.

Well Lyall did say better than what we have, Ange is arguably only marginally better than Boogs & Wilko and at his age and physical condition maybe better to pass up.

Agree with everything youve said, Danny has lost the plot - doesnt command his box and direct his players around (can forgive the mistake against Kawasaki but not failing to direct players for set peices)... Jamieson would be a quality signing, if he were available definatey would let Heff go as you say... One of my biggest annoyances with our current squad is our utter lack of pace and skill... its ok if you have say 2 or 3 of these types of players for the rest of the team to work around but our whole team lacks these things imo... only Caceres has some skill but he has shocking ball control at times too

i agree with CLARENCE Danny has lost it, would be good for danny to go overseas, Bosnich can give so much,  his age is not old for a goalkepper, lost as a commentator, has proven how good he is, talks too defenders, sees what is happening, we all saw that with  his quest stint.
