Good News, Drove past the Stadium today and the new video screen has been installed.  hopefully it will be working on Sunday Night

i was wondering what the crain the other day was there for.

It was lifting the screen into place. New scoreboard at least double the size of the previous one.
new Video screen, not scoreboard

boogs back as well

good news!
I can't tell you how relieved I am to hear that. Pedj at RB and Boogs to partner Wilko. Bring it on!!
I believe Pedj will play LB??? (well I want Porter at RB, not to mention I dont want D'Appuzzo starting LB- just on the bench please)

Porter Boogs Wilko Pedj

My mistake. I mean't LB.

Not sure about Porter at RB. I think he's more dangerous on the right wing.

My prediction that Pedj and Wilko would do better together than Boogs and Wilko came true for a little while, but now I'm very relieved to have Boogs back. Pedj made some terrible errors last week. With Heff out, Pedj goes back to what has been his better spot at LB.

I get the feeling that Wilko, Boogs and Pedj are all talented young defenders who would benefit from playing next to a high-quality, experienced CB who can lead the back line with confidence. When Wilko is on, he's confident and steering the guys around. When Wilko makes an error, which is bound to happen as his age and at this level, he goes into his shell a little bit and we can lose our shape.

If you watch Muscat or Moore, they sometimes get skinned by young fast kids, which is quite embarassing for guys of their pedigree in this league, but the very next play they are back to barking orders. They still command the unquestionable respect of their teammates after an error. If Alex is going to be our defensive organiser, he needs to develop that, or we need to get someone who can be that.

Porter Boogs Wilko Pedj

You do realise the D'Appuzzo hasn't been named in the squad.

depending on the Nix result.

if we're playing for something then

                  Danny
Porter    Wilko    Perj  Stingers
Carceras Gumpy hutcho Owens
            Simon  Macca

Bench Redders, Boogs, Sasho, Disco

If not then I'd like to see:

                  Danny
Porter    Wilko    Perj  Stingers
                Boogs
  Owens  Carceras  hutcho
            Disco  Simon

Bench Redders, Brady Smith, Matthew Lewis, Gumpy

but more likely

                  Danny
Stingers  Wilko    Boogs  Perj
Carceras Gumpy hutcho Owens
            Disco  Simon

Bench Redders, Brady Smith, Matthew Lewis, D-mac

Do you ever get sick of being right brett? ;)

Well right or not, I feel motivated to attempt some constructive, coherent thinking around here despite how much easier it would be to replace my above post with:

"Wilko's f**ked. Pedj is f**ked"
or
"Nice defending Pedj. kutgw"
or
"Can confirm that Lawrie is shit"
or
"Let's sign Jonas Salley"
or
"Let's place Paul O'Grady at left back" (sorry dru)

/intentionally inflammatory post :p

Well there is reasoning behind my putting Stringers in. Boogs has been injured and had no game time since the Perth Youth league game and an unknown like that while playing a must win game I would say doesn't make sense (assuming he hasn't trained for at least a week of that time).

If the nix get a draw or lose and really we need to non let in 7 goals as it is. then Boogs comes in to get game time and we rest Porter to avoid him picking up a 5th yellow. In reality the second team I put up will get no where near the pitch.

lol my bad
well u get my point- I assumed D'Appuzo would be in squad :p
No chance of Owens startin IMHO unless Nix lose- even then I doubt it (probs just bench)
BUt i really do want him to start

IF Nix win- and we NEED to win
                Vukovic
Porter  Boogs  Wilko    Pedj
                        Hutch
          Gumpy
                    Caceres
Simon        Macca      Sasho
Bench: Redders, Stringers, Owens, Mrdja

If no result needed...I dunno- I would give Macca (for Mrdja) a rest, same for Gumpy (for Owens) and maybe bring in youth on bench

No problem with selecting him, but surely switch him with Pedj in that line-up. Then it would be a good team.

Reasoning: Pedj played about 12 weeks at left back and was close to our most consistent player. He hasn't been good at CB the last two weeks either. Whereas Stringers, who is big and slow, marking Travis Dodd out wide would lead to disaster. If he plays, it must surely be central where his heading and marking comes into it.
