Oh Dear ... Porter ? ... Am I the only one out here who thinks he is absolutely useless ?

No I met a guy at a party two weeks ago who agreed with you. then again with out watching the game he told me Porter scored the own goal.

Regardless of what you think, he will play there as there is no one else this week.

IMO, Porter has more impact from the RB position. He gets better every gameand his effort there against the Roar was impressive. It wan't until he moved into the mids QLD started ripping us apart in the backs with ease. I am confident he will do a more than adequate job again against AUFC.

Pretty confident that we will beat 'nux on Friday.

Pretty confident that you will beat the inbreds.

Will be betting on both games. Don't disappoint me :)

I think Clark is a solid option there over Stringers based on Adelaide's attack which is about movement and counter-attacking. Clarky has played a whole lot more games for us at CB than Stringers, even if most of them were a few years ago now.

                 Danny

Porter - Clark - Wilko - Pedj

Simon - Gumps - Hutch - Caceres

           Dylan - Sasho
unfortunately, Clarke is also out as he picked up his 5th yellow of the season.  Might have to be Stringers in the back line after all....not too many other options left.

Realised this later...thanks for that.

Faith be with Stringers then!

Gawd help us then! Jamieson & Cassio will run rings around him.

Damn, I hate going to funerals too, & this match is shaping up as a similar feel to it (you have to go, but dread how you'll feel afterwards).

We are going out with a whimper I suspect. make the final 4, but I'm not splurging out on away finals after the first round.

I thought they were doing a super sunday this season?

They should be doing it. All games the final round should kick off the same time. I guess Fox's money wins out in the end. Why not have a viewer's choice?

it just wouldnt work.
you know about the whole the first team to win each year has gone away to win the premiship.
well someone gotta play first.
so i guess in the end someones gotta play last its just the pick of the draw.

I would name everyone that is available in an extended squad. If it is a dead rubber then give some game time to those that need it. e.g. Stringers, Owens, Nik.

---------Danny
Porter--Stringers--Wilko---Pedj
----Gumps-----Owens
--------Caceres
Sasho---Nik----Simon

Bench - Redders, Osman, DMac, Hutch

love ur idea pjennings although it will depend upon whether we want to try + get back to winning ways...
Here are my predictions
1) Dead rubber for us- play our strong team- lose to a focused Adelaide- then lose semi-final
2) Dead rubber for us- play our weak team- get hammered- then lose semi final
3) Wellington win- we play strong team- we win and we have a chance in semi final

I really have to hope Wellington win forcing us to win against wat would be a slightly relaxed Adelaide side. We need to return to winning ways!

I'm sure I read somewhere that Jamieson is out too this week?

I thought they mentioned it in the Fox telecast but he only has 4 yellows so they must of stuffed up.

How the hell has muscat only got 3 yellow cards this year??? The 3 incidents that stand out to me were the kick and hit to simons nether regions (2 seperate incidents) and kicking Agostino when they were both going up for a header. The only one I think he got pinged for was the Ago kick and only a foul - no card. There are probably numerous more but they all tend to blend in. He is obviously very good at what he does. Sorry off topic.

If we want to go anywhere but staight out of the four we need another spark from somewhere. Nik and Greg could do that if in form.

Couldn't believe that bit of the movie. How often does Brad Pitt get shot right in the face? Right in the farking face, I say!

if melbourne beat or draw with wellington and we hold on to fourth going into sunday i dont think the adeilade game is a dead rubber its our chance to show we can compete with the other 3  teams in the finals its probably not good form losing to all other top 3 teams going into the finals.  or is the game on feburary 13 our last for 09

The point I was making of it being a dead rubber was not to rest players for the sake of resting them. It was to play people that you may not otherwise in the hope that they play themselves into form.

Nik on form is the best striker in the HAL. Unfortunately we have seen little of that. I think more game time is needed.

Agree - also do yellow cards get taken back to zero after this round or continue on? If they go back to zero we would rest Pedj etc...
