Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Grand Final - The Mighty CCM vs WSW

Central Coast Mariners midfielder Michael McGlinchey in top form heading into grand final

Michael McGlinchey keeps the hit list in his head. Something of a cerebral dossier on those A-League defenders who, as he spears into yet another penalty box with the football at his feet, will look, think ... and hesitate.

"And that," the redhead grins, "is when you try to get at 'em, for sure."

While Melbourne Victory's Marco Rojas may have this week been crowned Player of The Year, the undisputed star of the past month has been Central Coast assassin McGlinchey.

His coach has never shied away from praising him, lauding him as "the best" while on the couch on Fox Sports' Kick Off program on Wednesday.

This wiry midfielder who speaks with a Scottish accent, represents New Zealand and is now igniting the Australian game. A footballer who enjoys nothing more than running that pill into the penalty area, then daring defenders to attack him or hesitate.

"I only said to both he and Bernie Ibini today that I'd pay the $125 just to watch them play this Sunday," coach Graham Arnold smiles. "When you have players like that on the field, they excite you.

"When (McGlinchey) gets the ball, you can see people on the sidelines stand up to see what he's going to do with the ball. You know my feelings on him. He's in wonderful form."

And dangerous?

Seven times this year McGlinchey has set up a Mariners goal; another six finding the net himself. When pressed, the Celtic product - who once played the role of ball boy in a game where Alessandro Del Piero starred - labels his form "my best ever".

And while he won't reveal if there's a Wanderer on that hit list he is happy to talk about that desire to attack.

"When you're playing certain teams you do know which players will come at you a bit quicker and those who hang off. It's something you like to remember," he says.

First time poster and an SFC fan. Seeing all over twitter about you guys joining in poznan. I just wanna say, don't let them treat you like puppets. Don't let the Robbie Slater/Fox Sports talk to get you to join convince you to because they are just helping you to be puppets.
Poznan is a uniqe thing in Australia to them, let them do their thing you guys do yours and not join in with rivals especially during a big match.
A "f**k you" poznan at end if you win, sure why not haha but I respect you guys small population no great sport history it's hard to get that active support you need but don't try make it better by being puppets to the wanderers.
Good luck int he final. Glad 2 teams that deserve it are there. My team certainly sucked!

but he's exactly right. unfortunately it seems quite a few on here are in favour of joining in, while some are not quite as happy at teh prospect.....as it would look like we are jumping on their bandwagon doing something that is their thing. as you can guess, I'm in the latter camp :)

i can't make going to the game in person so haven't really commented on this. after much pondering though, if i were, i would be against joining in.

i appreciate the whole sending out a world message of unity factor but if that's what it was about then everyone could do something neutral to both teams. so it's not what it's about is it. it's about the wsw story.

ccm fans joining the ponzie is the equivalent of ccm fans wearing red and black as a sign of unity. we are unique and not to be absorbed by their new (and to be respected) culture

It's not a unite thing by what they're forums are saying. They are already laughing on the thought of them getting you guys to join in. They say they do it for a meaning for the first ever match in Western Sydney but are saying you have no meaning for it, they just want to see if they can control you guys. It's a control thing and if they are laughing at the thought of getting you guys to join, imagine what they will do if you do join in. It's treating you like puppets, not a unite thing for football.
I'm not exactly the biggest Mariners fan but obviously not a WSW fan and don't want to see you guys fall into their trap and hear more media shit (the whole game is just going to be a countdown to the poznan) The word should get out about it here, yellow army facebook, twitter etc

Totally agree with vesh88. We should in no way mimic WSW's Poznan. It's got nothing to do with us. There is no risk of me being a collaborator. There are plenty of other ways to celebrate our lads in the GF.
