was an average game at best

Anyone who was surprised Kwas took the penalty is kidding themselves, whenever he has been here he's taken them. We all know what he can do when he doesnt have too long to think, unfortunately Hutcho's treatment meant he had what felt like a lifetime, you could see him walking around trying to keep calm, bouncing the ball. Bolton still had to pick the right way so I won't be blaming him.

Pedj again, incredible

Bojic was rubbish in midfield. I saw even more from Elrich to be honest!
Possibly the most illinformed retarded comment ever written in a forum anywhere! Pedj will get MON on this site I'm sure followed closely by McGlinchey. Elrich needs a sports psycoligist imo. I am not trying to be funny I mean it, he is shit scared he is going to get hurt again and is gun shy big time.

Although we haven't really played good every game so far. Yet we are still undefeated and have only conceded 1 goal all season doesn't that make us the equal best defensive team in the comp with the form team of comp gold coast?

Considering Asia and the end of v4 that's a pretty promising sign imo.

I thought we edged the game and a enough chances to win the game even aside from THAT penalty, although Danny did make at least 1 great reaction save in the 2nd half.

The crowd seemed a little bit smaller that the Scum game, maybe it was just a bit quieter, hopefully the blow ins will have seen enough ticker from the teams in these 1st 2 home games to turn up again when we play at home again in a month's time ( ), but by if we get a few bad result between now and then I can see the crowd dropping between 25 and 30%...

Why does the pitch need work on it when it's currently looking the best it has for a couple of seasons... :soapbox:

If you were sticking up for those people left to do things by themselves sometimes,  then you were sticking up for me and a few other people I know, which is a lot nicer then telling me to stay the f**k out of things.

I am suggesting that there are more people out there with valuable time and money that they usually spend doing other things willing to help me, so you will unfortunately have to stand corrected on that point.

Thanks for your concern, Have a nice day.  :)

LOL! Top reply Jimmy. Touche. :goodpost:

Re: Your comments I highlighted in bold print: It is good to hear that there are more folks, as you suggest. I am happy to be corrected.

People are kidding themselves if they think that wasnt a boring, mistake riddled game of football by both teams. I've seen better football played in park lands. It had me seriously questioning why I'd bother to part again with good money to watch that type of rubish.
Your personal opinion. I, on the other hand, am not kidding myself because I thoroughly enjoyed the game. I enjoyed the tension because of the scoreline, I enjoyed some of our (and also their) good play, and I enjoyed the fact that we are one of only 3 unbeaten teams in the comp at this moment. I come from an Aussie Rules background and am used to a lot of scores, but this match was still great for me.
I'm not an EPL or Serie A or whatever follower, and I don't care that my team don't play at that standard, I don't expect them to. I do care that they bust a gut whenever they get on the paddock, and that's what they're doing this season.
My personal opinion.

I know we had troubles defending corners last year but is there any rhyme or reason why we need 11 players in the penalty area to defend corners this year. Maybe two clean sheets is testament to over populating the penalty area for corners but it does limit our counter attacking options when the ball is cleared.

We don't have 11, we have 10 don't we? I thought Matty stays out. Anything's better than porous defence. We find other ways to create chances, but eliminating goals conceded at set pieces is in my view always worthwhile.

Matty, and the rest of the players defintely come in. Matty was marking Keller in the first half on set pieces but quickly swapped with Boogs when it became apparent that Keller was winning every header.

Also I know its been said but WTF is with all the longball rubbish our team is playing. I doubt we won a single header on Saturday yet we kept lumping it into the air again & again & again, only to lose the ball, and it wasn't just (......) doing it, it was the whole team.  FFS we've got some lovely ball players in our team, lets start playing it on the grass.

Before you all jump in, just to say that this was a post on Sydney's forum (Insert Keller where brackets are...).

And it's the Mariners what gets the blame  :innocent:

Funny boy RL! ;D

We did well when we moved the ball quickly, and that's either playing long angled passes to find a man in space (which isn't really your typical 'bypass the midfield' long-ball tactic either) or by working short angles and quick interplays.

When we were too slow, very often the best option was to come back and switch the angle. We weren't bad at that on Saturday, and while watching the ball move around the backline isn't terribly thrilling for some it does keep the ball and the rhythm of the game in our hands.

Our midfield's actually moving this season too, so it's not just a case of watching them move the ball for two or three minutes before getting frustrated and lumping it forward.

We're not exciting in the all action sense, and we're not particularly stylish, but I think steady and effective suits us for the moment. We were arguably pretty dour in the year we won the league too - didn't concede too many (outside of two matches in December) and usually scored only what we needed. We'll have more goals coming and the style will evolve as everyone gets to learn the shape too - McGlinchey looks very handy, and as Huke and Doig come back more options open up.

Zealots and Old Time Religion folk and modern day shock tabloid junors have a few things in common first they talk about something everyone knows is very important and many are trying to fix up .. they then scream it is only them who understands it is a problem and that they know how to fix it second they need someone to blame for the problem, so they pick on someone way over the top , and totally ignore the actual cause of the problem third claim almost god like knowledge and understanding fourth they gather around them devotees who will die rather than admit their hero has led them down a garden path

The most important aspect of the Zealot is there must be some gains of truth in what they say .. enough to bring credibility.

Fozzie . HMmmmmmmmmmmm constant attack on the technical ability of the A-League well without doubt a fair bit of truth in the comment but wait there are under construction four training academies worth about 120 million dollars, the FFA have managed to transfer the to the A-League clubs the state bases institutes of sports.. a youth league has been set up, a new Australia wide system for talent identification.. we are on our second technical director SOOoooooooooooo someone has been doing something and for a long time Now this is a interesting question does Fozzie actually thing that those that where prepared to put the money into the A-League DO NOT UNDERSTANDERED the need for the increase in technical skills that in park and associations teams over the last 10 years heaps of effort has been going into it. SO YES technical skills need to be improved DRRRRRRRRRRrrr everyone f**king knows it and many are doing something about it

Football in Australia has a colourful history .. without doubt the worst managed sport in Australian for almost 50 years broke, inept, bankrupt morally & financially so who is to blame for the lack of technical skills the answer is actually a lot of groups and people but in the main a totally fractured corrupt inwould looking system that played favourites But not our Fozze .. its the Pommies there hoof the ball up the park coaching. Lol SOOOOOOooooooooooooo funny when you consider who ran the major NSL clubs and that the NSL was actually a breakaway from the Association in 1955 because of the Pommies . SOOOOOOOOOOooooo lets blame the Poms easy group to target and goes down well on an SBS audience. So lets blame the Poms its all their fault all together now .. blame the Poms, Blame the Poms

Fozze claims almost God like knowledge in what he says he is good at the technical stuff but no where near what he thinks

Finally there are those who want someone to blame, can see the problem are too dump to see what is being done to fix it so assume nothing Then along comes Fozzie SCREAMS his tits off the sky is falling we have no technical skill we have no technical skill. Its the fault of the Pommies, its the fault of the Pommies. I am a God I am a God my knowledge is some great

Fozzie is pure bullshit gives no credit to all the work being done by thousands of people assumes people like Peter Turnball (Mariners major shareholder) who lives for football does not know of these technical things and worst of all does heaps of damage because many football folk still want SBS to approve of the A-League before they will go . And the worst thing by far and a huge way the worst thing is if you had a child of talent all you get from SBS & Fozzie is shit crap coaching .. so take your kid overseas is the message parents receive for the talented 15 to 18 year olds

But give me some of the old time religion and he will suck them in every time I want some of that old time religion, give me some of that old time religion
