The Serbian trialists are playing for Bonnyrigg on a 6 week guest stint, which started about 2 weeks ago. Apparently Lawrie wanted to see them more in game situations.

Really hope we sign them

have you seen them play because i really want the inside info on how "good" they are?

Where did I say "Zomg, they are the bestest players I have ever seen"????
All I said was, "I hope we sign them".. because, y'know, we are kinda in need of players. (and by all accounts they are quite handy on the field)

no, the way you are speaking it seemed like you watched them play

so therefore you hope we sign two players you have never seen and know nothing about?

sorry about the misunderstanding..

They've played Serbian 1st League and 1 has played for Serbian National Team... so they cant be all bad? right.

CENTRAL Coast will see if Scottish striker Gary Wales is worth the investment in case Dylan Macallister is not ready to start the season.

Mariners boss Lawrie McKinna saw Wales in action for Richmond in Melbourne at the weekend and invited him to join Central Coast in a seven-day A-League training camp in Canberra next month.

Wales has experience in Scotland with Hearts and Kilmarnock.

"We'll be based at the AIS (from July 8) and have games arranged against Belconnen and the ACT rep side," McKinna said yesterday.

"Dylan is recovering from a shoulder operation. He could be OK for the start of the season."

Mariners other key striker Matt Simon has a knee strain.

McKinna said he expected new signing Chris Doig to arrive on the coast next week. Doig made 77 appearances for Notts Forest before joining Northampton Town.

Why does everyone think Doig is such a hard bastard? Because there's a picture of him with blood on his face... Jeeeesuus! I've seen a picture of Gary Linaker with blood on his face...hardly a hard man

Reports from England say that he's a no nonsense defender. He's also Scottish and played League 1 football which is no friendly league. There is plenty of hope there, but we wont totally know until he is here.

I got the same info from a mate of mine who follows Walsall..he says Doiggy is  the goods

One thing Lawrie does really well is build a team with a relatively low budget. The players he will bring in will be right for the team and although there are no big names the squad will be a good, solid one. I've looked at some of the other A-league squads and if they get injuries to their star players (who will also be on international duty) they will struggle. One thing that is interesting with this current squad, you can pick what would be your starting 11 and then pick a 2nd 11...and there's not much between them. Not sure if that's good or bad but it'll keep everyone honest.

Doig and Travis could turn out to be diamonds.

Asked three different friends (football nuts) of mine living in the UK at the moment about Doig - the kindest response I got was "utter f*cking shite".  For the sake of our defence, I sincerely hope they're wrong....

Shares the same birthday as me. Must be a legend.
