Central Coast Mariners Squad for 2009/10 HAL Season

Really don't see the point in keeping Greg Owens, would be better off giving a spot to Brady Smith who only has to play one game and would immediately give us better value for money.
Time up for Gumprecht too (what is the point of paying good money for just an impact player?) - as impact players  we can call on Elrich, Kwasnik or Rizzo. O'Grady should be replaced but the A League is very short on central defenders so he may get a lifeline. Keep Mrdja but try to find small quick striker as we have heaps of big strong ones.

Brady Smith = small, quick striker

Likes belting people too so 1 game with Breeze is about all he is likely to get. Tad hotheaded

If Gumpy can lift his team and get the supporters up and cheering everytime he takes to the pitch, he is worth every penny IMO.

There is no chance that if Gumps agrees another 1 year deal that he will be on more than Kwas or Elrich. Rizzo possibly though

He is completely opposite actually. He is a solid tackler and does real well to win the ball and keep it and has been caught out going into tackles late that is all. nothing hotheaded about him.

No doubt. What you are worth and what you get aren't always comparable

Jedi scoring against Fenerbahce.

Tommy P winning the A-League for Melbourne and getting called into another National Team squad.

I want our centre midfield back!

i agree. from what i have seen, he floats in front of the back line just playing off them and moving the ball around. keeps possession. no hoofing it up the field.

because a player who can play about 55 minutes at game pace is definitely worth a large wedge.

According to SFCU, we have offered a first-team contract to Anthony Musmumeci from the Sydney Youth Team.

my point is gumps is certainly not worth more than kwas, if only for the fact that with us, he was a 90 minute player with goals and assists in him and gumprecht is not. jury's out on rizzo.

Could be a shrewd business move but if he is not up to standard I hope player connections do not buy him a place in our squad.

Can't agree that two bench players from also ran teams  are worth more than a player that consistently lifted our team and its supporters, even if only for 55 minutes.

Seeing a large number of posters are very concerned with the Judas like qualities  of many of our ex players  i'm surprised Kwasnik is welcomed back by anyone. Surely the greatest Judas act of all.

As for Elrich, for people to rate him is a surprise, he showed little at Wellington and nothing for the Mariners, that was before a second reconstruction

For a player to be forever tagged with "judas", they need to shaft the club

Eg - holland - handshake deal, pic with the shirt then shafts us for the scum. Petrovski, signs for the scum and then bags the club.

Both Kwas and Tommy left on good terms and therefore no tag
