Itll be Filan or Pasfield IMO or possibly Vanstrattan

filan is hardly a young gun, van stratten is tied up overseas and pasfield is average

So I guess someone that we have never heard the name of or another random name that Id like to throw out there is Bouzanis :) who wants another loan deal out here in a last ditch attempt to be right under Arnies nose for a surprise olympics call up

even if the danny situation does not turn out good we will be good in the goalkeeping department if all sources are true

i cannot say more, albeit that we could have another young gun in our ranks

Dear God, please say it's not Brad Jones!

paging mr nash, your mariners jersey is ready.

Sounds the most believable out of that lot.

Another ex-sydney bloke as well.
yep...rumours were rife a couple of weeks ago that the Mariners were scouting him (see 4-4-2 "story"  ::) of 7th April http://au.fourfourtwo.com/news/73351,mr-phenomenals-a-top-tip-for-aleague-return.aspx

When the Mariners start denying it...

filan is hardly a young gun, van stratten is tied up overseas and pasfield is average

paging mr nash, your mariners jersey is ready.

442 are quoting nash saying he hasnt been approached by the mariners

So we're just waiting for the Mariners to start denying it too? .............

I think its simple what players we need now after our new signings.

Depending on Danny's outcoming a back up Keeper for the suspension
period. Alot of names going around, Nash or Sheffield is an option.

If Clarky goes we need a specialist Right Back young, possibly from
AIS or NSWPL.

A back up Left Back for Heff and his leg, no-one awesome just a NSWPL
player, im thinking Vuko Tomasevic.

Our Midfield i pretty set, except id buy another attacking midfield, adding
competition for starting spots, young player.

Our Strikers are good, but there's no excitment there, id buy a marquee
Striker to partner with Mrdja. Anybody with little injury record, european
experience and not a complete DH.

What happened to Alvin Ceccoli?
From the A-League player movements list:
* Please note - Alvin Ceccoli move for the AFC Champions League fell through
Is he just off contract at the moment?

No to Vuko T - didn't work last time won't this time.....

We need an attacking mid and a utility back not a specialist left back just as a backup....

Who would  you not put Hutcho In centre Midfield instead Of left midfield to me  and im sure a lot of others he played some of his best football in centre midfield alongside Jedi .  for me its a no go for hutcho in left midfield

yeah we need to look at a replacement for Brown. Someone of similar style and calibre to Clark, but left sided that can cover in the CB role. If we had the following defenders that would be heaps of depth

Osman RB/RM
Clark RB/CB
Boogaard CB
O Grady CB
Wilkinson CB
Heffernan LB/LM
New Left Utility LB/CB/possibly LM

This would give us some awesome depth and give Lawrie ample choice when our defensive stocks are depleted through injury and suspension

As for the other squad position, an attacking mid or striker would be good. Lawrie might even consider a good creative deep lying forward that is a bit of a change to having target men and poachers up front which seems to be the case atm and may provide an extra dimension to the game. Is there anyone with a similar style to Del Piero or Totti in Aus? as this is the missing link in our squad

Here is an idea, BROWN!!!

He is a great squad player, I cant even understand why Lawrie wont give him a look in

A league standard has caught up with him and I think he is retiring. He did get owned by Melbourne last year on NYE as well

yeh i think a lot will depennd on  how fit  Nik Mrdja looks throughout the off season . this i think will determine whether lawrie will invest in another striker but i totally agree.  my idea is we should get maybe one more striker and one solid centre back to cover shall boogs or o grady become injured.
