Newcastle Jets to sign All-Night Dwight [RUMOUR]

The Newcastle Jets are ready to table a lucrative 1 year deal to Sunderland's Dwight Yorke after his rumoured talks with local rivals the Central Coast Mariners broke down. Gary Van Egmond is believed to see him as an ideal replacement for the departed Stuart Musialik in a holding midfield role. Whilst flamboyant owner Con Constantine sees his star status as a massive selling point.

Infirmus of Newcastle

FourFourTwo Belief Factor: 3/10 - While Dwight is desperate to come back Down Under, we just don't see it being at the Jets.

lol by Infirmus, who I think was banned for being a troll on this forum.

I'm not too fussed on the Yorke thing...
but playing a 4-5-1?

We have 4 strikers. Don't know about that idea... especially when it is Lawrie McKinna as manager.

yeah more wishful thinking then anything...4-5-1 aint really mariners style but that s the only way i could see us accomodating dwight without hacking hutch...kwas or caceres could always push forwards i guess..oh well still all speculation atm anyway

Dwight would suit the Jets IMO. GVE would most likely be able to play him in a holding midfield role with Monkeylik gone.

                Covic
Elrich North Griffiths Da'Puzzo
          Yorke Holland
    Zadkid Song Thompson
              Griffiths

Not a bad squad for them but certainly not one that would bring them back-to-back titles.

For us, I think Dwight would only fit if we changed formation. 4-3-3 (or 4-5-1, whatever way you look at it) or 4-2-3-1 would be ideal.

4-3-3:
                  ??
Osman Wilko Boogs Heff
                Jedi
          Yorke Hutch
Elrich Caceres
          Sash/Macca

4-2-3-1:
                  ??
Osman Wilko Boogs Heff
          Jedi Hutch
    Elrich Yorke Caceres
        Sash/Macca

that formation leaves newcastle weak in the holding role IMO

EDIT - spacebar aint working that wellon my computer

In a defensive sense, yes. Very weak IMO, although i haven't seen how good Holland would go in a defensive role and I think Dwight might be a tad too slow. IF Dwight signed for them (very doubtful) and GVE played that line-up, it would one of the most attacking in the comp.

holland is no defensive player.
he cant hack a good beating either... see him in the home semi after hutch put the hit on him?
no. you didnt...because he disappeared into the shadows.

The reason why Holland and Dwight would be in the holding role is because they both have bargaining power in terms of preferred position as with the exodus from the jets its highly probable that newie utd, thomas447 and many of the scum trolls will be getting starts for them in a few months

Fixed.

They may have to resort to cloning the way their recruitment is going.

skillbeck, if they had bargaining power in terms of their preferred position, wouldnt holland choose to be in an attacking position? ...considering hes an attacking player and all...

My Newcastle Team for next season consisting of the trolls on the forum and the few that are remaining after north and both griffiths's leave

--------------------Covic
Elrich------NewieUtd------Thomas447----D'Apuzzo
-----------Holland-------Roger26
ForzaJets---------Song----------Thompson
------------Donkeyboy Hoffman

Pretty (im)potent side IMO
