Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

He probably would be decent in HAL, though I don't think I'd like to spend the dollars on him.
He does well in holland. wont come back.

I have noticed that culina is not getting much game time currently. He could be thinking of a move back.

I'm hoping for someone better and I'm happy with our starting backs and DM - but Milligan is a current socceroo and his French deal is not signed.

Fergie-gate  ;D

isnt culina a holding mid though? good player but we would be better spending the money on a creative player or a striker like everyone has been saying.

how do you all think these guys would go in the A-league? The socceroos I mean. Yorke and Juninho were standouts, but they are a class above our Socceroos. While guys like Popa, Aloisi, Moore and Vidmar went well, they weren't massively outstanding. Do you think the current Socceroos... guys like Culina, Viduka and Kewell would stand out in a similar way to Yorke and Juninho?

Ha! Thats a fun question Tyson! ;D
Viduka would certainly "stand" I don't know about "out" though...
Harry, when not injured of course, would shine brighter for my money than anyone yet who has played in HAL. Culina would also standout at least to the level of Juninho I think which wasn't anything exceptional to my thinking.

culina is a good passer of the ball with a good work rate. His time in holland from a youngish age has made him a good technical player

Harry Kewell has probably been mentioned but it would be great to see him playing for us. His contract expires at the end of this year and I doubt he will stay at Liverpool.. Possibility?

IMO no!

I doubt he will infact ever play in the A-Leauge, and even if he does, I doubt it would happen next season.

He would probably stay in England because of his wife... is she still an actor over there?

Harry even on the out from Liverpool will still be looking to another hefty paycheck from one of the 1st division clubs. Would be very surprised to see him leave the EPL anytime soon, though his departure from Liverpool seems likely.

Read in the paper today Liverpool probably not gonna offer another contract.

Could Shannon Cole be a possible target for us?

There was a big article on FourFourTwo the other day about the lead-up to the top-of the-table clash in the NSWPL the other day and the match report, found here, says that he was being watched by two A-League coaches, but John Kosmina wasn't one of them.

Just a thought.

I have no doubt we'll pick someone up from NSWPL, is Cole left or right sided?

A mate in sydney knows him - left midfield mostly - though he does get back in defence a bit. Very good at set pieces.

. apparently harry's people have been researching housing options at palm beach, his wife is about to sign on with 'home & away' and he wants to provide support for the missus' career and play for the mariners commuting via luxury yacht

. in a deal with channel seven he will co-present a weekly one hour a-league show with viddy to supplement his mariners paypacket

. of course this posting is entirely fictional
