If you had to pick someone to be in the trenches with though, Clarkie would have to be a firm favourite.

He has never given less than 100% in any game he has played for us and you cant ask for more from any player.

As for Nik?? Payback time buddy

Hi Guys

I'm a Northampton Town fan (Pedj's previous club in England).

Heard about Pedj signing for you guys today, so thought i'd check you out!!!

You will be pleased to know that you have now become my adopted Australian team!!!

Fingers crossed Pedj does well for you. I'm confident he will. He may not be the most naturally gifted footballer in the world, but he always gives 110% and scored some memorable goals for us (6 in a season when he was playing mainly in defence was pretty impressive).

I will keep an eye on the forums to track his progress.

Good luck for your new season!!!

P.S - The pronunciation is Bow-Itch (i'd actually write it as Boe-itch to make it a little clearer!)

Pedjtheledj

cheers mate

nice to know he can score goals as well

and sorry for writing boy for pedj - meant to say bow (bow tie) - bow-itch

Welcome aboard Pedjtheledj. You should be proud of your man, he has made a very good decision signing with the Mariners. We have a very respectable management team that looks after the players and a bunch of great guys in the squad. Not only that, we kick arse on the pitch :)

So is it Bow-itch (as in bow tie)
or is it Boy-itch?

Ben Coonan's source is as reliable as it gets; asking the man himself! But did Ben get a passing response in the middle of a media scrum (where the exact pronunciation may have been misheard) or was it a one on one question where Pedj made it very clear? We've gone this far; we may as well get to the bottom of it.

Predrag "Pedj" Bojic (born April 9, 1984) is a Serbian-Australian footballer currently playing for the Sutherland Sharks in Australia's New South Wales Premier League competition.

He can play anywhere down the right-hand side of the field and has represented his country at the Under-17's World Youth cup. He was part of The Cobblers' promotion season of 2005-06. Now playing with the central coast mariners on a short term contract.

Did OK vs. Sydney FC on Sunday and I thought he performed better than D'Apuzzo. Plenty of heart and soul running, backed up well in defense, helping out both Clarke and D'Apuzzo. BTW, look at the number of appearances over the last 3 seasons. He's obviously physically sound, and consistently good enough to make the first team.

Pedj will be the solid back up across the back four that we need. I thought Wilko was man of the match on Sunday - not Bosnich. Great to see he is back to full form for the start of the HAL.

Outfield squad complete...final thoughts?

We have better depth and better variety in almost all positions than almost every other HAL team, but with a bit of a hole linking midfield to attack. If someone can step up into that breach (Adi, Smitta, ?) or if we can score enough goals down the wings or direct onto big dyl's head for flick-ons, we'll be very competitive again.

Sorry, disagree with your thoughts on Wilko.
To me he still looks like he is bothered by his knee (or some other injury??) and was slow in marking up and getting back, as a result.

You mean someone like Mile Jedinak?  :pirashoot:

Have to agree with Clarence on his assessment on Wilko.  I though Pedj did a fantastic job and cleaned up very well a couple of time with Wilko caught out of position.

The great thing is though we now have some great depth and players challenging for starting spots in every role is going to keep them all on their toes.

we have good depth yes but not the best quality, some clubs have invested heavily in key players ie. sydney melb and adelaide.... whereas we have gone for the squad approach, over a longer season id say we'd be at a massive advantage but with such a short season we may need to hope for a few key injuries to other teams key players, if they get injured then they dont have the same quality backup that we have... hopefully it means over the course of the 21 rounds we are the most consistant however we may not have the quality in some areas to win the grand final, just my opinion of course!

Or we could get to the grand final with Sydney FC and they only have 1 striker left 'cos the one they've poured all the money into has a stuffed knee.

thats exactly my point ;)
theyve invested heavily in key players but what happens when they blow a knee or get dandruff?
whos the backup? I dont rate santalab and bridge is pretty inconsistant, brosque can be effective on his day

I just want to know when we are going to sign Bozza and when do do is it for the 7 games, the season or as Marquee?

Any thoughts?

Three year contract and Bozza will do it for the love of Football and the good of the sport in Australia.

I wish.

Seriously though, it probably depends heavily on how confident Bozza is that he will be able to get back to EPL and how soon.

Pedj was solid. Dont know how tall he is, but he seems small. Maybe he cant jump as high as others, but he looks relativly small for a cb to me. Taking nothing away from his game, he was solid, just seems kinda short.

according to his mariners profile, he is 180 cm, so yeah pretty small for a centre-back

Thats the same height as Clarky tho. Hmm, just seems to look as tho he was struggling to compete in the air at times. Maybe thats just my take on it tho.

IT's also why he played CDM when in ENgland - not big enough to make it at CB.

DOn't be surprised to see him at RB with Boogs at CB later down the track. Bojic's biggest asset is carrying the ball forward out of defence.
