ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I also noted Cahill is in. Did he get a scholarship contract or something after returning from HK? (I think I must have missed what happened)
I'm keen to see him have a shot in the A-L

Had a great convo with Marcos the other day. Most inspiring conversation I’ve ever had with a CCM player.

Few tid bits to share, everyone loving training, feeling positive. Wants to take it up another level this year and really believes they can. He and his family adore the coast.

We can expect to see him in the box this year a lot more, more focused on scoring as opposed to creating for others which he said needed to be done last year. We all saw what he did for Matty and imo was obviously key to Matty having the resurgence he did,

Expect a less rigid and more tactically proactive approach to coaching from Monty - who he rates very highly, EG: latter half of season, or our home final against McCarthur, who had, like everyone else completely figured us out by then but we refused to change or adapt. Quoting directly “Reactive. Not proactive, we will have a plan B.”

He has a great understanding of what is missing in young Australian player development and football in general - noting what many have - penchant for selecting athletes over football creativity and intelligence. Marcos will clearly be a massive positive influence on our younger players. This man is a real leader - Olly likewise… with those two, we are in very good shape.

Great to hear. Sounds like a guy who can have a lasting contribution on the Coast even after he has retired. IMO, would make a good coach.

Also validates what many of us were saying about Staj’s tactically inflexibility leading to our slide in the second half of the season.

Awesome update. Thanks.
Re: Aussie development. We absolutely have taken athletes before footballers. Look at niz getting overlooked for most of his junior career. Athletes can be built, football skills and IQ comes from proper junior development to about age 12.
