Nothing because they cant score.

van dijk?

bear in mind that brisbane also play five in the midfield, which meant extra players to screen and had meat heads like tiatto doing the dirty work

I disagree with you. As you know when those two players work in tandem the Roar play really well. Last season they hardly played and didnt win a thing. Both really good on the ball and put pressure on other teams.

Agree with Bulldog on this one Mick. They bossed us and usually dont come second very often.

Size of the heart in the Dog etc.

From reports I have heard he looks to be a tidy player, starts training early June so time will tell.

Team is coming together nicely IMO, not sure how many positions we have left but a striker and RM would be nice.

do you and bulldogmariner honestly believe that we would dominate a game with a four-man midfield that includes perez, mcglinchey and bozanic?

So 22 signed, with 6 u21s and 4 foreigners, no marquee.  Reckon this is it or is there one last (cheap backup forward?) to go

probably as dj said - another forward, possibly replacing a current one, and a right midfielder

Central Coast Mariners is believed to be on the verge of confirming the signings of two imports - one an Argentine playmaker and the other other an experienced Dutch defender.

The World Game understands that Patricio Perez, a member of Argentina's 2005 World Youth Cup winning squad - alongside Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero and Fernando Gago - is poised for a move to Gosford.

The 24-year-old has already had a string of clubs with spells at Velez Sarsfield, Chacarita Juniors and Chile's Everton. Since 2008, he has been playing in the Argentine second division, first with San martin de Tucuman and more recently Defensa y Justicia.
Big things are expected of Perez in the A-League, with the Mariners keen to improve on a poor campaign last season.

Meanwhile, Dutch press reports claim 35-year-old defender Patrick Zwaanswijk has agreed a one-year deal with the Mariners, with an option for a second season.

Zwaanswijk graduated through the famed Ajax football academy before joning FC Utrecht in 1998. He had a brief spell in Japan with Oita Trinita, between 2004 and 2005 before returning to Netherlands to link up with Arnold's former club NAC Breda.

After five seasons with Breda, Zwaanswijk's contract was not renewed and after reportedly rejecting an offer from ADO Den Haag, the tall defender appears set to join the influx of foreigners in the A-League.

That sound exceptional news ... on paper these guys would be very useful and have some good experience to pass on to the younger players...

A contracted player is looking around at other options too as they won't see much game time which will free up some cap.

Another RM most likely IMO as we've not got much to choose from currently, Kwas and Porter really unless GA has other ideas, but Porter has been told he's a DM this year.

Anyone know what is happening with Brady Smith?
Is he staying at the club? Youth league or first team?

My guess is Kwasnik & Doig are the two players GA is trying to unload.

GA is talking he wants a small very fast striker ... and I think he needs to unload the two players to pay for a new striker thus Kwasink... why Doig ... because while he is an excellent defensive player he is pron to injury and is on a reasonable salary...plus we have brought two seasoned full backs one on the left in Rose http://ccmariners.com.au/default.asp...pid=1298&tid=2 and .Zwaanswijk.. plus Wilko, Pedj, and the new kids ... Sam Gallagher ( Aust U 19), Rostyn Griffiths ( Aust U 16), Trent Sainsbury ( Aust U 19), Marc Warren ( Joey & Aust U 19)

When you add Sam Gallagher ( Aust U 19), Rostyn Griffiths ( Aust U 16), Trent Sainsbury ( Aust U 19), Marc Warren ( Joey & Aust U 19),  Matthew Lewis, Mustafa Amini ( according to many including Les Murry the best junior Australia has produced in ten years) ... Arnold has 7 players 20 or under .. to this add Matthew Ryan, Porter, WeeMac, Pedji, & Patricio Perez (the new Argine) Danny V, Oliver Bozanic and Matty, GA has 14 players under 24 with more spots to fill and to replace Doig & Kwasnik

We have a side with heaps of junior talent... will be an interesting side watch develop,,,

I can understand Doig, but wouldn't you keep Kwas?
I'd say he would be pretty cheap and can back up a lot of positions.
