From McBreen's facebook page: I can confirm that CCM have granted me a release from my contract with the mariners, this is so i can have the luxury of regular first team football with the Perth Glory. Id like to thank all the Perth fans for there generous support during my time. I hope the CCM have a great season in 2010-2011 and all the best for there fans.

not sure if this will be good for the coast or not ??? but hopefully we can get a classy striker up front with nikky and matty

Surprising.

I'm assuming that means $$$ in our pocket?

It could also mean getting a striker with skills other than what we already have. I was of the opinion that McBreen was just more of the same, so I'm not that upset he's gone.

No $$$ for you as he has just been released.  No transfer $$$ between HAL clubs anyway.

Given that Mrdja was re-signed, this move makes sense.  Really pointless to have both..... tohugh of course you run the risk the Mrdja gets out of bed on the morning of the first game of the season and breaks his leg doing it.  Gives you McBreen not insignificant $$$s to spend in more needy areas.

Would have suited Lawries style but doubt he would fit GA's

If thats his attitude he can go.

Bet he deletes my comment on FB lololol

Sure we will give him a warm welcome next season

Makes good sense to me with squad number restrictions it always looked unbalanced to have three similiar players on the books; I'd have been happy if Mrdja had stayed with Melbourne instead...

Might go to Asia?

In fairness you can't blame him for wanting to stay. The financial offers surely would've been similar for him to even consider it, and he has far less competition there (as well as knowing he fits in). Having he, Simon and Mrdja at CCM at once was incredibly poor recruiting IMO, so you should probably be thankful.

How professional to announce it on facebook lol

Frees some good money now, I'm not disappointed

If he didn't wanna be here then I'm glad he's gone, makes the crap about wanting to be lose to family a load of bullshit

Agree with what many have said ... for me have Matty, Mc'Breen, Kawsie & Nik , as our strike force, was very much the same type of player... GA says he is looking for a smaller quick player up front ... looks good to me..

Also as Deej said if he does not want to be here... then go...

Plus the money free up ... is not bad either...

Always thought that this may happen. When i saw him in Perth he was quite happy there and has been playing some great football. Arnie really now has an opportunity to shape his own squad. Still has a good spine to the side now we need flair and speed to take this to another level.

Would much rather have lost Nik than McBreen though tbh.
Am hoping that Mrdja impresses quite a bit during ACL,
enough to be signed by one of the asian clubs.
Gives us a bit of cash for a better player imo.

Wouldn't mind a clean out.
For mine, all we really need to keep is Danny & Huke.
Would like to see a lot more of Brady Smith.

Well, now we just need Mrdja & McGlinchey to do the same and all of a sudden GA has 11 spots to fill instead of 8 as planned.

Careful what you wish for Scratchysquire, it just might come true. You must have a lot more faith in our recruiting abilities than most

To the eight first .. remember we employ dodgeie brothers as our Accountants..

The Eight first..

Lucas Neil, Chippers,
Harry, Bresh, Emo, Carney
M'C Donald (remember we are looking for a small striker now)
