Bojic two yellows and off. But doesnt matter, the game is won!

Yay: finally a win again at home.
Relief: no wooden spoon.
Pleased: up to 7th on the ladder.
Hopeful for the future: Brady Smith.
Sniggering: no home final for the Jets.  :piralaugh:

the future looks bright after the performances of Brady, Panny and Matty Lewis all played well and can see why the youth side are going awesome.

Where has Brady been all season - top cross to matty for the goal

Porter hits the cross bar!! That's two easy shots he's missed. Has there ever been a worse shot for goal than Porter?

Meanwhile, Haliti has been sent off - two yellows. Jets down to ten men and the wooden spoon looking like its heading over to South Australia.

Wow you must really hate Porter. Don't know about you, but the first shot he was lucky to get a foot to the ball. Second was unlucky to not go in. I thought he was one of the better on the pitch tonight, amongst a team that actually played very well together. Youth played really well, but Nikas has to get those silly fouls out of his game. Brady made a real impact when he came on.

Great game, good atmosphere, Coastie boys did us proud again. The boys were appreciative of the support as well, came to the supporters. A good finish to the season!

What, we have another game? lets just forfeit, leave this game as our last! :p

line up the same as saturday

           -------Vukes--------

Huke---Wilkinson----Doig-----Boogard

Porter—Crowell----Nikas------Bojic

             Simon----Kwasnik

From mckinna's twitter

What a waste of time the line up is, It really sums up the problems of the season, Lawrie not prepared to make any changes unless forced to. What are we going to learn from it that will help us build for next season? We have missed the play offs so does it really mater if we finish 7th or 10th surely we should be giving more of the youngsters a run.

I LOL at you

Winning feels so much better.

I liked Huke at RB. Seems to the be obvious replacement next season in that spot. Played really well.

Panni and Brady both have big futures at the club. I love how Panni never puts the ball in the air. We play so much better passing the football on the deck.

Great work boys... Nothing better than beating the scummers!!!!!!!!

We absorbed the early pressure, got a goal and looked in control really from that point.

Well done boys, great way to end the year (at home).

Very happy Matty finally found the net, Kwas took his goal very well too.  Young boys did fantastic, Panni has a big future.

Well we discovered who the curse was.............

Anyhoo. Scum should have had us dead and buried after 15 mins really but failed to take their chances.

Panni showed why he should have been playing weeks ago, the kid makes space, always goes forward and wont be muscled off the ball.

Huke at RB - immense. Him and Porter were a brick wall down the right side.

3-0 against the scum - cant ask more any more

I am sitting back here at home, feeling more relieved than happy. Since Saturday when I learned of Adelaide's win I have had a knot in my gut, it's been hard not to keep thinking about this game and yesterday at my mates' flat in Sydney, watching the Sydney-Perth match I kept saying over and over "F**king hell I just want to beat the Scum and have it over with so I don't have to keep thinking about this f**king game!"

I was actually still at work when tonights' match kicked off, listening to the commentary on 96.3. Finished work at 8, got to the game about 15 minutes before half-time. Apparently the Scum were all over us from the start, but from what I saw of the match (at the ground) they looked uninspired and dull. Our defence was solid and effective and our attack was sharp. We were unlucky not to win this one 5-0. They only put about 2 shots on goal the whole second half.

Thank f**k we aren't getting the spoon and thank f**k we thrashed the Scum. I don't care if the Nix put the cleaners through us next week- that'll do me this season. Great to witness my first Mariners win since Boxing Day '08! I can sleep soundly tonight, and go to work with a smile on my face. This may be my last Mariners home game in a long time, I couldn't have asked for a better way to leave it!

P.S Trev, you were missed  :p We remembered you in song, right near the end.  :eek:verhead:

Awesome!!!! :vhappy: :piralaugh: :pirashoot:

This is why we keep comming back, no matter how bad it is and no matter for how long - a single win like this can erase a half season of loss!

Panni looked a little lost defensively in the first half but managed to settle. Crowell gave him some great support and directed him where to be. He will run the show next season.

OHHHHHHH.... but that good wasn't it!?
Sweet soothing balm for the tortured football spirit or what!!

Sure its been a disappointing year...
But that was brilliant!
We won our grandfinal!

Jinx sminx chimmi  ;) ;D

All three youth were outstanding...
Brady will cut it at this level imo, he's always been sharp and physical... But you can never be sure till you watch them step up... and he did.

Youth coming good in Derby that flogs scum = EPIC.
This is how our stars of tomorrow should debut.

Add Sherlock, Mallia as good future squad members imo also.
Oh and the 16 year old wonder kid form the AIS...

And we're going to be bloody Aussie Arsenal ; :vhappy: :eek:verhead:

My oh my, but how that would piss Craig Foster off!

On a future note, as I posted a few weeks ago, I really like the idea, of obviously signing a few key players, and a marquee, but filling out our squad with all of the aforementioned youth. They deserve it.

Kwasaldinho my MOM.  :headbounce:
But they all did well.

Congrats to all of the team.

And another final goodbye and thanks to Clarkey.
Terrific send off and way to close out the season...

We felt like a family again tonight!!
