It's funny reading through this thread from the first page to here and how down a lot of people were before the game. I think there were a few people who, when the game was called off on Saturday night, thought we were just delaying a near certain massacre.

Just goes to show that sometimes, even though it may piss down mightily and you are staring down the barrel of an inglorious thumping, the light is about to switch on at the end of the tunnel!

I was actually at work still, listening to the radio when Boogard scored. I was alone in the store so I pumped my fist and said "Come on boys!" But my heart was still thumping and I was nervously pacing around, waiting for the Scum to equalize and then score another to go ahead.

At the game, I remember saying to a mate at half-time "F**king hell, I just want to see them (Mariners) score the match-winner right here in front of us this half!" After Kwas scored I still thought a late Jets fightback was on the cards. It wasn't until Matty banged in number 3 with 13 minutes to go that I realised everything was going to be good with the world once more!
