ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

The first half contest was good except for our missed chances and when kwasie was sent off the bells started to ring. I thought bringing matty back to sit on Fat boy was good and slowed him down a bit however we still made some terrible descisions in attack.
Did anyone else notice Muscat slap the refs hand away at about the 80 min mark? If that did occur would that be the same as vukovic.s?????

The press will read Mariners are illdisiplined with Macbreen carded mouthing off Bojic wrestling and assaulting players now kwasie telling the ref he is a f****** cheat. And we are looking for sponsors!

Kawasnik never called him a cheat he said to him ANY F@@KIN CHANCE REF after being fouled by muscat ,as all pros in the heat of the battle would say the ref was a bottler he gave melbourne the lift that they needed.

Looked to me like all he said was 'Oh come on!'

However, as I said before, I'd say it was the action, not the words, that earnt him the card (though even here there's no consistency whatsoever!).

If he called him a f****** cheat it should be a straight red - though I'm pretty sure Muscat has called referees this without copping anyway.

I'd be interested in seeing Muscat slap the ref's arm away - I'll have to download the game I think.

Unfortunately FFA is stepping into the same worrying area as FIFA. Is there corruption? If not corruption, at least are influences being brought to bear to ensure certain teams get throught to the finals.
Players are subject to a reveiw committee however refererees seem a class distinct.
Their decisions determine a match. Kwasnik gets sent off for dissent, justified or not, and yet Muscatt gets away with regularly abusing and disenting referees decisions. In the match that adam was sent of referee just laughed off Muscatt's tyrades.
Questions must be asked, not only in respect to last weeks match but other matches not involving the Mariners. How many have been decided on contoversial decisions by referees. Whilst their assistants make some audacious errors I do not blame them overall as the referee has every right to over-rule them.

For those wondering what happens to a referee after a game like this one, watch Kuwait v China in a couple of days and you will see that Ben Williams get to officiate in the highest profile event Asia has to offer.

How on earth did he get that gig? That will surely be an embarrassment to the FFA.

Did Ricardinho get cited by the MRP for the studs into Matty's leg?

I've had no luck finding anything on the A-League site about it...

That appointment would've been made long before this game, so there's no way it would've had an effect on that. As to whether he deserves to be a FIFA ref - well, I haven't seen much of his work for quite some time so I can't comment.

Referees ARE inspected every game and attend training sessions during the week. However, the fact that the same referees can make the same, massive mistakes in consecutive weeks makes me wonder if the inspectors are picking up on the mistakes, or if they're being disciplined appropriately.

We don't want to be in the position the NRL was where referees were too afraid to make a decision knowing they'd get dropped for any mistake; referees are human and this approach benefits nobody, but if a referee is consistently underperforming that needs to be addressed.

It's far more competitive for assistants; they do get dropped for errors, but of course it doesn't get reported.

Unfortunately though, inspectors DO play favourites with referees. Why we expect referees to have the utmost integrity, but that same pressure isn't applied to the men behind the referees is beyond me.
