ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I completely agree with Dutchy taking penalties when Perez isn't on the field. Kwas has missed his last 2 penalties and I didn't feel very confident when he stepped up. I also think Bozanic would be suited. He is a good dead-ball striker.

At the end of the day you have to put your hand up to take a penalty, perhaps there's a few players in the squad who simply don't want to take them? Matty Simon for example hates taking penalties.

Fortunately for us the missed penalty means nothing, anyone can miss a penalty, being English I guess I'm used to seeing that :)

The pitch though was shocking, should never have started the game in the first place.

Bring on Wednesday night!

at first i wanted to punch MB in the face, for his insinuation that
it was a hidden agenda, and infact i still do, even if it was, who cares!!
what a shame weather had to spoil what had some serious momentum behind it up there!!

Is it possible that Kwas missed the penalty because of the conditions? Many big names have missed penalties lately, even on perfect pitches.

I have the feeling we actually got the penalty because of the conditions. I'm sure the defender (can't remember who it was) lost his footing as he tackled because of the treacherous surface.

Kwas isn't composed on the ball, we all know this, defenders are usually better as they are used to keeping cool heads in high pressure situations, ie having Robbie fowler running toward goal with ur back to him

Are the kwas haters taking into consideration it was pouring rain and he kicked the ball out of a puddle? Ironic thing is if he kicked it straight at the keeper he was a good chance cause it was so slippery!

Whether he kicked it during wet conditions or dry, I suppose being a professional you should really get it on target at least.. I've never been very confident with us and taking penalties - the only player I've backed to score has been Perez (and probably Aloisi when he played)

Though not to worry. Replay sometime down the line!

LOL because Kwasnik has never scored a penalty for us hey, he scores 6 in 7 or 8 games and people love him and then people abuse him......yep that's Kwas
Im not attacking Kwas, im saying he should never take the penalties. He has missed two now in a row and both times he has gone left. he did score a few in season 3 but somehow watching him actually score was more of a thank god then well hit.
Totally liking Kwasie as a super sub or 6o min starter but not the penalty taker please.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

Aloisi missed a penalty for us if I recall correctly. People miss from time to time. He would've been better off from two steps than a big run-up considering the conditions, but I'm not overly worried.

Players miss penalties all the time. Drogba missed the other day. I just hope that now Kwasie has been moved further down the penalty pecking order as the confidence is just not there, from him or anyone watching him take a penalty.

It was the first leg of the semi-final against the scum in our premiership year, up at scumcastle. Would have squared the scoreboard at the time. Unlike Kwassie last Sunday, he didn't have the weather against him, just the pressure.
