All football clubs are a dog of a business. He made it out like it was done with ulterior motives.

I suspect it was but the structure existed when he got there. Can't blame MC for it.

Changing the subject completely, did PT ever settle his various court cases?

Hi Shaun,

This was on another thread about this coming weekends Academy games

I believe 18s, 20s & Firsts have been moved to Valentine Sports Park as Pluim #1 is unavailable. Youth at Pluim on Field 3 Saturday.

Can we get a link to the Academy and North Shore Mariner games off the main CCM site. Also is there a reason that the North Shore Mariners are not playing at NorthBridge?

Actually Shaun, the clubs reporting and coverage of CCM plus the other sides in the network leaves a fair bit to be desired.

I appreciate that is probably a resourcing issue that Sydney and WSW don't have but there must be a creative solution.

Onto a less controversial post (I hope) and because you've all been so nice to me I'd like to stay on a bit longer.....

TW as manager? What's the consensus here?

I actually thought he was a breath of fresh air when he started because the football last season was rubbish under Moss and I stupidly felt we had turned the corner at the end of last season.

I find him very smug and annoying and I cannot believe their isn't a decent local manager that could do a better job (Mark Rudan would be a good candidate for starters) but it would seem a bit unfair to sack him given the squad he has at his disposal.

For mine he has till Xmas this year, regardless if funding. Get the required funding (at least $2,400,000 baseline spend) and I'd say anywhere above last at Xmas is progress. If he doesn't get the funding then he should fall on his sword for not arguing his case.

The funding issue really isn't a question anymore if MC and his cohorts have anything resembling a brain, it's a clear statement of fact. Adequate funding for a competitive team simply MUST be found for 2016/17 because if they don't even the Koolaid drinkers on here won't be attending next year and they'll be looking at sub 5,000 crowds as the norm. It's their call but quite simply if they don't invest to an acceptable level we will not have a club

And I expect the Final Round game to be a quasi-protest and the lowest ever F3 Derby and potentially sub-5000.

How ironic that the club was under-reporting it's crowds a few years ago (remember the scandalous under-quoting at the 10 years game v Brisbane Roar?) and now they will probably be embarrassed about what they have created...

I am actually very disappointed that their is no protest action whatsoever planned for that match, such as a mid match walk out or pre-match sit down. Then again I guess we don't want to upset MC do we?

Interesting re TW. 3 main schools of thought.

Sack him immediately
Move him to TD.
Keep him

(Keep him is a minority from what I read/hear)

Storrie gets to make the call. No one in the club or even this country.

For mine, he isn't a coach and shouldn't be in the role.

As for Rudan, rumour is we knocked him back (I'm not so sure of that) and given what happened with his brother in law I'd say he wouldn't be a favourite.

You haven't seen the spoon celebration Newcastle are planning and invite us to join in with?

I know a lot of good judges rate Rudan - I don't. As an analyst I do not think there is anyone better in the Australian game. I find most commentators telling me things I already know. Rudan, on the other hand often sees things that I don't.

He took a clearly superior team to win the NSW NPL. since then, when he hasn't had the best team he has not performed as well. My first point against him.

When Moss was in trouble and MC was talking about NSO he courted MC through the media alluding to the majority of games should be Northern Sydney. My second point against him.

His commentary about the Mariners since he lost out on the job and his brother-in-law parted company has been disgraceful. My third point against him.

As for TW, again a lot of good judges have already written him off. I am probably in the minority here who think he should be given a chance with a better, more balanced squad. Xmas this year sounds like a reasonable review time. As you say I am taking increased funding as a given that must happen for the future of the club.

Overall average for the F3 is 10,540. the average for F3 games in Dec and Jan is 12477, for non Jan Dec games is 8917. The lowest two games are 5842 and 5917

It's a fair call to keep him and give him the resources to get the job done, to be fair probably knew from Day 1 he was in for the year from hell.

Now, looking at the squad, who are keepers, either as first team (or close to it) or just as squad?

My 20c

Roux 23 (first team)
J Rose 34 (first team)
Poscoliero 25 (first team)
Ashcroft 20 (first team fringes)
Austin 24 (first team)
FABIO 26 (first team)
Monty 34 (first team)
O'Donovan 30 (first team fringes)
Buhagiar 18 (squad)
L Rose 18 (squad)
Stella 24 (squad)
Bingham 21 (first team fringes)
Neill 21 (first team fringes)
McGing 21 (first team fringes)
Izzo 21 or Bray 22 (squad)

So, based on a genuine squad of 22 (plus a few development players on incentive deals) that means 7 quality in and zero required players out, though on that note if we genuinely got any transfer fee 100% added to the existing playing budget rather than general revenue I say all players are for sale at the right price.

I see us having six players of first team quality (harsh perhaps) and five that can do a job at a pinch but we don't wish to be regulars, hardly suprising we are so rubbish is it? Hopefully some of the fringers step up to regulars and you'd hope a couple of squads become fringers. Anyway with six in we get 12 genuine A league players and 5 fringe. It's still wafer thin but if the players we get in a genuine senior players it gives us a fighting chances.

I'd be drafting in the following

* GK x 1
* CB x 2
* Midfield x 2
* Strikers x 2
Clearly is the players can play more than one position that would be of benefit....
