ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

It looks like the only thing that will save the club at this stage is the management rights!! However, as you say why would you think CCMFC could run the stadium. IMHO CCC has shown they can't. Maybe it is time for the club to talk to Singo. Get him investing, and on the board and make him the front man for managing the stadium.

With all due respect PJ , Singo is 78 he has vast racing and building interests, is a huge NRL man, has a big family and an idyllic lifestyle etc.
Why would he want to get involved with us?
Where would he get a return on his investment?

I'm saying that there is a confluence of interest here. I here what you are saying, but first and foremost he wants to push the Central Coast forward. That is why he is investing in the CBD.

Gosford, on Friday and Saturday night, when it should be jumping is dead. Having crowds of 3000 angry and disgruntled fans at the stadium is not helping. However, investing in the stadium and the team would hopefully lead be a much larger and happier crowd looking to kick on - or eating and drinking beforehand.

Singo wouldn't need to be hands on with the stadium - he knows and has used people that can.

I wonder if there is any reason that concerts can't be held at the stadium. Lionel Ritchie being the only one I really remember being there.
If we had control of the stadium I think it's something we should be looking at.
Especially if the leagues club got their hotel.
That pissy bit of land MC is asking to build a hotel on is bullshit.

I arrived 10-15 minutes before kick off and got a spot really easily in the railway car park. Knew it was going to be a pretty horrible crowd right away. I didn’t really follow the glory years but remember going to one of the early games and it took forever to get out of there if you could even find a spot to begin with.

There used to be concerts at the stadium quite a bit. The Lionel Richie one came about when the Mariners started kicking up a fuss about taking over management rights. The council said nahh we can do this, we can book other events here... see? Lionel Richie. Then nothing since.

I got no idea why they don’t have those gigs up at kariong down there, cause they are cracking gigs ( once you get over the sunstroke) ....neighbor complaints maybe

The problem with the council seems to be too many NRL dinosaurs waiting for the Bears to get an NRL spot, in spite of NRL saying it ain't gonna happen.

Opposite end of the spectrum, but I remember for the preliminary final against the Jest in '08, Bay 16 was standing room only and 2 people deep in the middle rows. When Petrovski banged in goal #3 people went sprawling over the seats in front of them.

Never seen a night like it since at our stadium...

Apart from LR & carols by candlelight I don't really recall any.
I forgot about Kariong. But really and truly a concert in the summer at the stadium would be great.
Apart from the fact we play in the summer of course.

If the club can take over rights they can attract all sorts of events that don't clash with home games/ruin the pitch. Load up during the off season, pocket any profit from tickets, food and beverages. It's a smart move if they can get it across the line.
Good for the council too as they get guaranteed lease money and no headaches or management

I thoroughly agree that they can put on stuff when we're not playing. I'm not sure how the pitch would hold up to a few thousand on it for a concert.
Do they cover the grass? I seem to recall some places do. I imagine a concert on a warm balmy night with a great sunset.
I know in reality that would be the week it pisses down and the pitch get ruined though.
It would make sense if we could get the egg chasers up here whenever possible in the winter too.

Bay16 packed to capacity, oh those were days I remember that like it was yesterday I was late due to a few sherberts before the game and was relegated to the top of the bay the only place left then the huge celebration back over at the CCLC. Another fond memory I have is a mate and myself noticed Anthony Lapaglia's family sitting on the CCLC side with the sun still pretty intense. We sat behind them, struck a conversion and had the most enjoyable time, Gia Carides was an absolute delight and that goes for the rest of the family unfortunately for them we thrashed Sydney FC 4 zip. They accepted that defeat not in a way we could have.

I’m hearing a lot of excuses but no plans.

MP is at United
MC doesn’t have enough money
Agents don’t want there clients here
We have to pay overs

But where is the plan? We thought we had an experienced coach but he was out of touch.

We need 5 quality foreigners to be the spine. Then we fill the gaps with whats left.

We have led in almost half our games so if we stop the bleeding we start winning or drawing.

Start with an experienced keeper. They win you games and get you draws. Will be worth every cent.

Then our backline can no longer be so young. Two experienced cb’s are a must. You can put Glassock in the squad. No problems but not the starting team unless he earns it.

Then a midfielder to control the game like isias at AU.

Then a winger with real quality to play on the counter attack with. Leroy George miezeski types.

Thats the 5 foreigners used up.

Striker you say. Just have to stick with Murray and Simon. The money needs to be spent elsewhere to stop the rot and good strikers are very expensive. A luxury we can’t afford for now.

Our youth products showed plenty of fight and a keenness missed from the senior players. We can have them as our squad fillers.

Then get a coach with a defensive mindset who can play on the counter with speed

Just wondering, cause I never looked into it , How much money do we get off Foxtel and where does it go...I mean don’t we get the same amount as everyone else

What about the bemuda traingle of players, We possible(unlikely) paid the min club spend for this season.
We then let Golec go.....no replacement.
We then let McCormack......no replacement.
We then let mcGing go.....no replacement.

we then let Millar become a scummer and continuied to play the dog...when scum offerered to pay out his min wage contract...no replacement.

We let Berry go....no replacement.

So basically we are so f**ked up (Pikey!) that we thought that we could cover 5 player loses with 3 free players. 2 kids for free from sheff and 1 bloke that paid his own way (Jem) and is playing for free.

Charlesworth you are a dog. A liar and a fraud. Fund us or f**k OFF. More of the same next season and you will have an increased security bill each home game.
