ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Whilst I have no insider info (so please only take this as my gut feeling), I am becoming increasingly convinced that something more is going on behind the scenes at our club. Shaun’s demeanour of late has only fuelled my furtive imagination and so I am hoping against hope that maybe MC has finally realised that he needs to move the licence on to someone who can actually put the club back on a positive trajectory (a la Newcastle).

I know that I am clutching at straws but all this clubspeak about developing our youth systems for the future is all pretty pointless when the actual on-field product is so obviously sub-standard. The stench of failure is now so prevalent through the club that the only realistic way to change that is to have a new owner come in and sweep away the deadwood and inspire everyone to move forward with real, tangible hope.

Not just the new owner though - what's Shaun's involvement in the recruitment of the head coach and the entire coaching staff?

At least for the first few years of failure we could still say 'yeah, but we have a great history'. As the years have gotten on more clubs have met or exceeded our history - it's just not relevant anymore. For half a decade our club has been a joke.

Half a freaking decade.

The low turnout tonight should ring alarm bells for the club. We won't hit 5k at our next home game. Low 4k at most.

This is a bad year for WP to come good.

The Club management must act swiftly now and admit they F****d up in appointing Mulvey and get rid of him. If they do not the owner must use the axe on those responsible for what is now a beyond a joke.

Seriously wtf have they done to this club . This is a performance driven industry anywhere in the world the stench of the shit is so thick that it's impossible to point fingers, they are all collectively at fault, we are now experiencing the rot of neglect and lack purpose shown by this club not to mention the complete disrespect for community and CCMfans alike seriously is this what us fan signed up for my last ditch was Charlworthless to sign Oar and McCorpug and we bought into it What purpose are in place purely on a Football sense. f**k this I have no rant left, time for action we need to boycott maybe then we might be taken seriously.

I know a lot of people may disagree but yes maybe it's time for the management team to come under some scrutiny also & I'm not referring to the coaching staff!

I watched the fireworks with my family and a few others. Myself and one friend wandered in for a beer and watched about 10 mins of the game....just in time to watch Pearce let in another howler.
Our movement off the ball is non existent.
I was shocked at how small the crowd was.
Time for Plan C Mike.

That's what we were saying in 16. Where the hell is the movement off the ball? Everyone is just static, and that's not just in possession, the free kicks Perth had early before the goalpost fiasco, none of our defenders moved with their man, just stood still to keep their line.

A loss next game and Mulvey has to go. Needs to be fired after the match, or fall on his sword. He's failed in his mandate, should really be gone today, but another game seals it.

Shaun, I've got to fire an underperforming employee next week. Happy to get Mulvey in the meeting and do both at once.

So you don't agree with what someone says on a forum so rather than explain what you think is happening you just tell them to Fück off.

How old are you? Ten?
Actually don't bother replying I've put you on ignore.

Check the day/time that was posted. I wouldn't take it personally.

Like most supporters I feel that the club needs to be more transparent about what is happening with the playing roster. It is easy to just say that players aren't playing because they are injured. This has been shown to be a lie eg. Tom H and Ross M for starters.
If any other club had only 3 real imports (I don't count McGlinchey) and then played without all three for the majority of the first 10 games of the season, also was missing their star Aussie import (Tommy O) for 5 games and two of their best young signings (Gamiero and Aspro) not play a game I think they would struggle.
Some one at the club should have come out and given honest updates on: Ross M, Tommy O injury, Tom H situation, Gamiero's injury, Cisse's position and Aspro's injury progress.
Hopefully tomorrow night we will see Tom H, Aspro, Tommy O, Kennedy and maybe Cisse back in the starting line up.

Not even being booed by fans will, it seems, prompt Mariners owner Mike Charlesworth to sell the club. Confidential can reveal that an offer in writing of $8.5m from an overseas-backed consortium was rejected by Charlesworth this week.

The deal was brokered by Tony Rallis, the intermediary who brought Usain Bolt to the club on trial, but was rejected out of hand by Charlesworth who has told his staff he wants to attract investment rather than sell outright.

Mariners CEO Shaun Mielekamp confirmed an offer had been made and rejected, but declined to comment further. However Confidential understands that other suitors might be circling.

The structure of any sale could be complicated, as Charlesworth owns both the football club and the complex at Tuggerah which houses the club’s centre of excellence, its HQ, an office block hosting other businesses, an aquatic centre and multiple five-a-side courts.

Meanwhile Charlesworth insists he has no problems with dissent among supporters, including a “Charlesworth Out” banner, even though his children heard some of the chanting in the New Year’s Eve loss to Perth.

The businessman has had to fly back to the UK briefly but texted Confidential before takeoff to say the fans “have every right to protest as they see fit. A lot is being done to dig ourselves out of this hole”.

Ross McCormack’s time in the A-League is over. We hear the Mariners don’t expect the on-loan striker to return from Aston Villa, having travelled to the UK to seek advice on a knee injury.

The money saved on his salary will still be spent on a replacement, with the club fishing for a new forward in the transfer window.
