ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Bye Nik (but we'll meet again)

He came closest for the Tards, and did ok generally.
But MV's midfield was pwned and Nik was outnumbered and isolated for much of the game...

But doesn't matter, after a loss like that... they are very likely going to start hating on him I'd say. EASY scape goat - with his part time tard but still really a Mariner head sticking WAY up out of the trench...

Handed a solid gold lifeline for a career that was going down like a brick budgie, let's everyone down with an egregious show of indiscipline. I think he's shamed us.

....I first read that as 'erogenous show of indisipline' lol. Missed the game - what did he do to earn the red?

Elbowed Cole in the face as a cross came over - dumb as, the ball didnt end up going anywhere near him.

Similar act of dumbness as Heffs red for elbowing Musc**t - same end too

ps - not sure how it shames us TBH

Soft red IMO.

Elbow, yes, but wasn't hard enough to cause Cole to be knocked off his feet.
Couldn't see it being given a red if he didn't go to ground.
Well milked

Agree with PatJ and Floss. Especially PatJ ;D

Very stupid thing to do though, but really don't think he expected to catch Cole in the face. Nor swing it to do any real harm. This may be his saving grace from the match review panel.
Cole milked it massively. But was showed up by Muscat tonight.

Hate, no despise, when players bung it on.

"gamesmanship" slater... "ol boys club" you mean.

I have to admit I was surprised to hear Nik got marched. I've never seen him as a dirty player.
I didn't (and still haven't) seen the incident, so I have no opinion as to whether he deserved the card or not.

Can't see how he's shamed us, he doesn't play for us remember. If Tommy or Caceres did something nasty, would that shame us?
We can always say he's been corrupted by a certain captain (who shall remain nameless) since he arrived there. Nik just hasn't learned how to do it right  :)

If you elbow someone its a straight red - regardless of the damage you do.

Cole was well within his rights to go down in order to get the decision.

A certain L Neill in the A Champs got done for the same thing.

If you make contact with another player with your elbow you are gone

/end of

Agree with the other but not the bolded comment.
Feigning or exaggerating an injury to gain advantage in no better than feigning or exaggerating a foul to gain advantage. Muscat did the same twice in the game, rolling on the ground like a cut snake and clutching at body parts that weren't touched.

Those that question why the general public shake their heads at the antics in high level football need look no further.

Scores a goal and they love em .. gets sent off and they say ...what a prick...

Cole went down faster than a pro up at the cross and was pulling his shirt... but at his age and time in the game Nik should know better...

Silly Nik ... mate silly ... to Col have a look at Lucas Neil at 1:14 sec to about 1:34 sec ... Lucas copes a full on elbow in the side of his head and does not go down but has a go at the guy..
