ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Bye Nik (but we'll meet again)

If you are anal enough to watch the first half again you will see nik gets away with the same trick. Maybe a complaint at half time and they were watching for it?

Read somewhere, prolly 442, that Tards still considering an appeal. Don't know the time limit on appeals.
Can't think what grounds for appeal either. It looked pretty obvious on the replay I saw.
Maybe they'll say Nik missed and Cole took a dive. :)

Then he would get done for the swinging arm - happy to be corrected but I dont think you have to make contact do you?

Strongly suspect the Tards will be at home to Nux before the GF so he would get a start if they make it

Intent is enough as far as I know.... and its a moot point, because he definitely made contact.  Doesn't matter how easy Cole went down, deliberate swinging arm to the head while off the ball is voplent conduct however you look at it.  For all the 'we should be tough' stuff, if you get any kind of deliberate elbow to the face these days you should bloody well go down anwyay.

I believe they had till noon today to appeal.... haven't seen an announcement?

They're appealing.

Can't see it being overturned, he deliberately elbowed. I hate milking and diving.
But Cole couldn't have gone down if Nikn hadn't elbowed.

The likely result is A) it will be upheld as it  or B) Nik will cop an extra game, which MV don't give too hoots about as it would only mean he'll miss his first game for US next season.

good to see nik up to his old tricks...

"Melbourne lifted in the final 20 minutes to create several good chances - the best squandered by striker Nik Mrdja two minutes from time as he was unable to control a ball which found him just metres from goal."

I wouldnt say "squandered" - it took a nasty little deflection at a hundred miles an hour - chances are that ball was in the back of net if not for the slightly misdirected pass

It was a tough night for Nik. He had two players climbing on top of him for 90 minutes.

Whilst I can understand why he missed a couple of great opportunities, it was nice not to have the usual anguish to accompany that display when he performs like that for the Mariners.
