ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Bye Nik (but we'll meet again)

Have we insured against him being injured down there. If he can't play next season we get Archie :p

Nic in melbourne  will be interesting as to their style of play. Will tell us if he still has speed and endurance?

would imagine he will play the lone striker back to goal for 2 am's to run off.

I can see Tommy and him going well together and makes a visit to SFS on 14th more fun

He still doesn't really suit them. Better than playing with no CFs, but he's not the pacy outlet up front Merrick has built his side around for 4yrs.

Also, lol at 2yrs more. I wanna get his agent to negotiate the two contracts I'm looking at ATM. I'd be happy with 60-65, this bloke would get me 6 figures!

So he's contracted to Melbourne for the ACL.
If he signs with us or the next a-league season.
What happens if/when the two competitions overlap?

Signed for group stage + round of 16.

Does the round of 16 overlap, or is it the last stage that doesn't?

Edit: I thought I read that somewhere, just looking for a link to confirm

2 more years. I'm disgusted.

5/6 ok games towards the end of the year doesn't make up for 4.5 years of being lazy.

All I can say is I hope he's taken a pay cut!

If he scores 10 for Melbourne, we don't want to bloody sell him.

Found it:

from http://www.ccmariners.com.au/default.aspx?s=newsdisplay&id=32400

As part of the deal, the former Qantas Socceroo will link up with Melbourne Victory for the final two matches of the Hyundai A-League 2009/10 regular season, finals series, and the group stage and round of 16 of the AFC Asian Champions League.

Group stages are Feb 23 - Apr 28,
Round of 16 is May 12th

Since we don't kick off till August roughly it makes sense, unless he plays ping pong in Melbourne

Also points to it being a one year deal.

Foundation Central Coast Mariners striker Nik Mrdja has signed on for a further season in the Yellow and Navy, taking his contract through to the end of the Hyundai A-League 2010/11 season.

So not as bad as others are suggesting.

Any one see it playing out like this...........Nik has an absolute stormer, bangs in goals left right and centre before suffering a season ending injury in the last game for Melb.

Cant make finals, opportunity to save wages = good economic sense.

Not communicating or explaining and treated the "members" like mugs = wankers

Does seem to be very much that the fans/members are the last to hear of any overall direction. Next years coach is a big one- Lawrie quoted in the daily tele today as not going anywhere. Who knows what the case is anymore!

TBF everytime lawrie has something in the media, he has said he still has one year left to run on his contract, i havent seen anything where he has said he will be head coach next season

In todays tele it says that Mckinna 'has reminded colleagues that he has a year remaining on his contract specifying that he holds the title of head coach'.

Not a direct quote but interesting nonetheless.

Also says he is meeting Gorman and Turnbull next week to dissect the season.
