ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Arnie, you don't live here any more. Stay out of the pantry.

From the noises Gallop is making an Australian is not yet first choice, but soon.

Ideal situation - Hiddink comes back to the 'roos and we keep Arnie. Then Arnie takes over the 'roos and convinces Hiddink to come to the Mariners *grin*

Considering the cost of Hiddink is irking Football Australia, I think you might be wide of the mark with your last prediction. ;)

I think Arnie is keen for the job, but fingers crossed the FFA look overseas. Arnie would be great long term, but best case scenario is him taking over once Hiddink has done the World Cup.

Would anyone really want that job at the moment?

I class Arnie & Ange as club coaches.

I'd go against the grain & get Okon to take the job with a heavy dose of the Under 21 team in the squad. His team played some of the best football played by our juniors in a long long time. While they didn't get the results they played very well.

I'd like to waste this world cup (I know u shouldn't disrespect the WC) to promote the next generation who look good & it will show them how hard they have to work to get to the next level. They will all bee 23-25 by the next world cup & lets face it - It is them who have to get us to the next world cup.

Our chances of this world cup are not good we just don't have any grit or match winners. The team is ordinary. Take a chance on the next generation @ the home of beautiful football Brazil.

I'd rather watch them get spanked giving it everything they had like in Turkey than watch that disgraceful stuff I saw against Brazil & France.

If we get drawn spain watch out -

May seem crazy, but using the World Cup as a practice to get some squad cohesion for some of the up and coming stars a la Rogic et al, and then turning full focus on winning the Asian Cup in 2015 could be a smart move.

seeing a few reports that FFA have started negotiations for ange. Apparently the qantas naming deal is up and funds are too tight for what a quality OS coach would want to fix this mess.

I wish people would get over the fixation with Hiddink. He. Is. Not. The. Answer.

Why pay someone big bucks to take us through to the end of the WC. It is just stupidity and pissing your money against the brickwall.

Bite the bullet and get Ange (or Arnie) in now with the view to refreshing the squad for the WC, getting the experience under the players for the Asian Cup and build a solid squad for 2018. As to the assistant coach, get rid of Vidmar and bring in Ante Milicic as the assistant. The man knows his stuff.

Hiddink is definitely no long term solution but it can't be denied he's awesome at what he does..

Also people seem to have missed the tongue in cheek nature of my comment

FFA have confirmed the 3 Aussie's are the main candidates. Have to think Arnie is the best placed...

A colleague of mine in Melbourne who is a foundation MV member and has a connection with club management (management he very much disapproves off) tells me that Ange has the job and that MV are making tracks to get an overseas coach in. Hope he is right.....

Ange seems to be the media favourite.

Aloisi said on Santo Sam & Ed - They should give it to Ange, Arni & Poppa so the rest of the league has a chance

be interesting if it's Ange, he seems to need a lot of time with his players before they play the style he wants and he won't have quite that luxury with the national team. that said if he gets it right we could be very good. I'd be happy to keep Arnie at ccm too

HEY! All this talk of coaches and noone's mentioend Miron Bleiberg!? What's up with that? Last year he was alwasy the third option, outside Arnie and Ange, poor bastard must really feel left out... Maybe he's the foreign coach they're looking at, till the end of the WC? ;) :santa::afro:

Marion is a great character but he is a shit-house coach. Like Steve McMahon of Perth (season 1) but with hair.

Arnie (and to an extent Poppa) has shown that he can create a successful team out of the players he's got and is willing to give youth a go so I think Arnie would be the best choice.......I can't say the same for Ange and agree with GrA's comments. But, being selfish and wanting the Mariners to be successful again this season, I hope FFA go for Ange (or Poppa) and leave our Arnie with us.
