Amini bound for Europe

On another note, rumour in Germany is that Dortmund will loan him back to us for the coming season anyway.

Interesting play - they secure their man, but have him develop in a familiar environment. It's the footballing equivalent of putting him on lay-by.

Word was untill January window, not entire year.Which means he will be on an increased salary more than likely.

The reason seems to be that from July - Dec he will be involved with U20 and Olyroo commitments - and he 'would always be on the plane'

AN incredulous Graham Arnold as scoffed at claims from German Bundesliga champion Borussia Dortmund that the club has tabled an improved offer for Mustafa Amini and is set to snare the Central Coast whizkid.
Mariners turn to AminiAmini samples life in fast lane Amini plays waiting gameOlyroos to host Yemen twice
The Mariners last month rejected a $135,000 offer for 18-year-old attacking midfielder Amini, who trialled successfully with Dortmund back in March, and Central Coast coach Arnold insisted on Sunday that the club has not received an upgraded offer, claimed to be around $350,000.

Dortmund general manager Michael Zorc told Bild the club was confident the new bid would be successful in securing the Young Socceroo and budding Olyroo who still has a year on his current deal to run.

"We have made the Central Coast Mariners a new offer for Mustafa. We are confident that we are now certain," Zorc said.

But, with Amini currently in camp with the Olyroos ahead of the looming preliminary round London 2012 Olympic Games qualifier against Yemen in Gosford on June 19 and Newcastle on June 23, Arnold told The World Game: “It’s rubbish to say we have had a new offer fro Dortmund. It’s simply not the case.

“I have no idea what it’s all about. I have not heard one word off Dortmund. Musti has a year to go on his contract and he did well last year and is currently preparing for those qualifiers with the Olyroos.

“Then we will have him for the game against Celtic (at ANZ Stadium on July 2) before he goes off to Colombia for the under-20 World Cup (July 29 to August 20) with the Young Socceroos.”

Amini’s agent Buddy Farah has been heavily critical of the Mariners chief Peter Turnbull for, in his eyes, standing in the way of the rookie’s dream European move.

But he was more circumspect when contacted by The World Game, saying only: “I will let the clubs make the comments. I think it (a move) is a little closer to happening but the main focus for Musti now is to concentrate on the Olyroos and Young Socceroos, and not worry too much about anything else.

“As far as we are concerned he is still contracted to the Mariners and that is the way it will stay until something significant happens. Things will sort themselves out and in the meantime, he needs to keep his head clear and his mind on the job at hand.”

If true is excellent news .... + he is with us for a year..

. not so sure about this ... sounds like his national team commitments will be quite disruptive (to us) and then he will leave in january (according to reports) when we need to be consolidating before the run to the finals and the acl

. will be interested to see how much of the fee makes it to recruiting a replacement and how far it gets us

. good luck to little ronnie though ... i wish him great success

Top news if true! Musti gets to develop with us for another year. Also allows BVB to secure him and not fear losing him when his contract expires.

(Translated) In his native Australia enjoys Dortmund's new super-talent Mustafa Amini (18) currently on a short vacation. Exclusively to BILD told the U-20 national team with the Pumuckl hair, as the deal was with master trainer Jürgen Klopp (44) ...

Amini thrilled, "coach Klopp has taken me into the cabin in the arm and told me that I had convinced him at the trial session with my way of playing. In general, he treated me all the time as a full team member. He's a really extremely nice guy - and an absolute professional ".

Amini in Dortmund receives a four-year contract, but should first be loaned for a year at his hometown club Central Coast Mariners.

Amini, "Klopp told me that it was better for me if I play another year in Australia. So I can prepare myself to sit quietly at the U-20 World Cup in Colombia and the 2012 Olympics in London. In addition, I can thus accumulate in Asian Champions League next match practice. "

Super Talent to Australia in 2012 finally hits in Dortmund, he wants to watch the games via the Internet BVB: "My desire is for this amazing club is already huge."

The only new piece of info in that is that Musty will play the first round of the ACL with us. Great stuff.

If all this is true then it's great for Musty. He can play for the Mariners this season without the worry of where his future lies. He can relax and concentrate on being the best he can be under Arnie and not have to get paranoid about what scouts from o/s are thinking.

Also, you'd have to think that playing in the ACL must be beneficial for his development. You'd have to weigh that up against training with Dortmund and playing in the lower divisions. I dont know which is best, but ACL exposure can't be a bad thing. He may actually learn how to fake an injury and milk a penalty ;)

Boom Central Coast Mariners midfielder Mustafa Amini will sign a four-year deal at Bundesliga champion Borussia Dortmund, pending a transfer fee agreeable to both clubs.

Amini's management said the player, who impressed Dortmund at a trial in March, has reached an agreement on a long-term contract with the German club, confirming a report in Bild.de.

"Mustafa has a pre-agreement with Dortmund over a four-year contract subject to the clubs agreeing a transfer fee," Amini's agent Buddy Farah said.

"The sooner it's resolved the better for all concerned. If the clubs decide for him to be loaned back that could be a good thing for him, especially from a learning point of view.

"The Mariners have been very co-operative in their dealings throughout the whole process."

Amini is expected to be loaned back to the A-League club next season to gain more first-team experience.

"Coach Jurgen Klopp told me that it was better for me if I play another year in Australia so I can prepare for the 2012 Olympic qualifiers and focus on the FIFA U-20 World Cup," Amini .

"Additionally, I can hone my skills and get more experience against quality opposition during the Asian Champions League.

"When I trialed at the club, coach Klopp treated me like a full team player and told me that I had convinced him with the way I played."

While Central Coast refused to comment on the reported signing, The World Game understands the clubs are in the process of negotiating a transfer fee for the highly-rated 18-year-old.

Earlier this week, TWG reported that the Mariners had rejected a $135,000 offer for Amini last month.

However, Dortmund general manager Michael Zorc said the club was confident it would be successful in securing the Young Socceroos and budding Olyroos midfielder, who still has a year on his current deal.

"We have made the Central Coast Mariners a new offer for Mustafa. We are confident that we are now certain," Zorc said.

Amini is in the squad with the Olyroos for the first leg of their Olympic qualification play-off against Yemen at Bluetongue Stadium on Sunday, before the return leg in Gosford on Thursday.

Thats what was reported earlier and just wondering if SBs are playing some catch up...

But if true the best of both worlds we have him for Hal 7 and get a fee for him as well ... everyone is happy...

Also gives us time to find his replacement for the AC... I remember when we sold Jedi just before the AC and it came back to bite us on the bum big time...

One of the disadvantages of being "The World Game" is we have to let our best players go to "The World". At least if the game was only played in Australia, we would be able to retain all the talent and possibly have something called club loyalty, and see people at the club for many years rather than country-hopping for loads of cash. That's my little rant, anyway.

Good for Mustii, not good for us fans or development of the A-League.

In this case, if Musti stays here on loan it's actually an endorsement of our league - Dortmund think enough of us that it's better that he play here than train over there, and they like our kids enough that they want to lock him up for themselves before someone else gets their mitts on him.

Sounds good when you put it like that, but he will have only been with us 2 seasons and then gone.

Just for comparison, there is a massive shit-storm going on in the AFL at the moment, with a number 1 draft pick (a talented, young, future star of the game) of one club being courted by the new Greater Western Sydney team. The move would mean that player would leave the team after only two seasons also. If that player goes to the new club it would be for a lot of money... all well and good for the player, but the a massive loss for his current club, who put a lot of resources into developing the player looking to strengthen their team for future seasons, being taken away.

Similar situations, but the Melbourne media is in a frenzy over it, yet this is just something that happens all the time in football, and we have to be happy with it.

Also IMO shows the wisdom of appointing GA as the coach … in that he has knowledge and experience in international player transfers especially to Europe , beyond I guess most in Australia…

I think our management has done us proud if we get this outcome… and I think GA may have been very helpful in getting this outcome...

Exactly. We should be proud to lose a developing star of the game after 2 seasons, instead of 1.

Nothing against what the club did, or the deal we got (yet to be confirmed, by the way) because it IS better than just losing him now, but I think it really sucks that this goes on all the time and we have to be happy about it!

Obviously Mustii is better off for the deal, but it doesn't make any difference to me how much he gets paid or what happens with him after he leaves the club. It does mean that I am paying for membership every year to see a team that will only keep quality players for a short period of time, which means we have to constantly be searching for replacements of equal or better skill level, or the team and the whole league in general will suffer. I realise that players will always come and go but that turnover rate seems to be a little bit high in the A-League! Hopefully one day we will be able to hang onto players like this, and we will see some long term commitments to help building a strong club, rather than putting in a cameo performance while they shop around for a club that will pay them more money to fk off to.

Just hope players like Weemac, Olly, etc stick around for a while now!
