Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

I can't wait to see his face when we beat them next season

I hope CCM thrash SYD FC next season and JA gets sent off for 2 dives
Like sure JA had legit appeals for all his penalties/free kicks.. but the refs are lazy/dont care/love SFC and then give it for THEM.
Same ol story really.
JA might have more penalties this time round.

Hope he spontaneously combusts.

And does that 'scary' face where his grits his teeth at the ref

Aloisi had plenty of legit calls for penalties, but the sight of him falling over was getting OLD after a while. That and the fact that he and Sash were basically cast from the same mould, and tended to wait for silver-platter service, then have a little whinge when it wasn't to their liking.

A real grafting striker who wrestles through the sort of attention that JA would have tried to milk a foul from - and actually tries to get the ball back - is what we need.

A perfect example of that was Matty Simon getting dispossessed, but fighting back through two defenders and earning a spot penalty.

I'm with the Mrdja supporters, though I have put up a few saying this exact thing. I have not seen a player hit a ball better than Mrdja.... Bring in the witch doctor, cow's blood, whatever it takes. Mrdja is exciting and deadly. Simon and Mrdja would be a great mix. Nothing against Sasho, he's a champ... I want Mrdja back terrorising the wall from 20 out. If there was ever a player that you is worth the price of admission, it's Nicky....

Get fit for us Nick.... I want to see some of those killer goals...

Love matty, when he nets his first he's on his way!

How many times has that been said this year. He did get HIS FIRST (even though it was wrongly disallowed) but did he get on his way. NO WAY. He has had countless opportunites to NET HIS FIRST (counted) but his technique lets him down every time.

I know he has scored goals for lightning but this is the big stuff in Australia and he is not up to it.

Lawrie is very loyal to his players and obviously he sees something in Simon that I dont but I hope it doesnt take another year for him to repay Lawrie's loalty to him. Sooner rather than later for the team's sake (and his own) but I dont see it coming. If you ask yourself HONESTLY BEFORE A GAME WHERE DO YOU SEE A GOAL COMING in my opinion I dont include Matty Simon.

From the WWOS site...

"The Central Coast Mariners wish to advise that John Aloisi has concluded his contract with the club effective today," the Mariners statement read.

Therefore,
it is a done deal.

To whom tho??

This money grubbing little turd will shaft u lot if a bigger bid comes in from Japan
yeh well,
i personally don't want him, as do others

i feel it is a sour ending to his career at the mariners which should be celebrated.
If i was him i would have stayed for another season then retired.

But, at the end of the day, if he does his job and starts scoring goals for us that has been a problem. I'm happy..
I will like the new look Sydney side.
Remember the off season is long and teams will all have big signings...
bring on v4

if he is getting plenty of assists, then does it matter who is tapping the ball over the line?

Question: Does Aloisi get booed by us at his return to BT?
I mean on the one hand his 7 goals were a great help to us winning the premiership...
but on the other hand-
he sold out for more money to one of our biggest rivals!
I want to boo him!

I'm just gonna ignore him. Unless of course he scores against us, in which case i will chuck a tanty.

Jedi's just gotta stop em getting quality ball through to him and hopefully his 08/09 season will be as quiet as the one just past.

I won't boo him (too badly)

I still remember his first game for us, and how it felt seeing his face up on the big screen at Bluetongue. I also remember his first goal for us.

I also remember his goal getting Australia into the World Cup.

For all those things, I won't boo him (much).

Gumpers I won't boo at all. Regardless.

I've started to look at the Aloisi in a different light for the last few hours.

Upon hearing that we had stopped negotiations with JA a fortnight ago and that we couldn't match Sydney's rumoured $1 million dollar price tag, it got me thinking.

Could we have matched that price if Singo, Turnbull, Lyall and co. really wanted to?

Would we have continued negotiations if we didn't have a back-up plan?

I don't think this news is as bad as first feared, yes Aloisi will be a f*cking great signing, but I have no doubt there is someone else waiting in the pipeline.

In Lyall and co. we trust!!!!
