Ah stuff it, let him go. I remember being massively excited when he was first signed and that pretty much wore off over the following months. He was never anywhere near as dangerous in the area as he could or should have been. It'll be interesting to see how he goes with SFC.

(Sydney FC coup nets Aloisi)

Directed at Aloisi, in the same tone as Spidey in the 3rd movie.

"Good riddence."

He'll just be as washed up as Juninho.

I'd be happy to have Juninho, but at bargain price only.

SFC meda release this morning:

MEDIA STATEMENT

SYDNEY FC CONFIRMS IT IS SPEAKING TO JOHN ALOISI

Sydney FC is speaking with Socceroo John Aloisi about the decorated
striker joining Sydney FC for the 2008/09 Hyundai A-League season and
beyond.

Negotiations between Sydney FC and Aloisi's management are progressing
well and are at the advanced stage. Contrary to rumours no contract has
been signed.

Sydney FC is hoping to be able to finalise the negotiations in the very
near future and an official announcement will be made if Aloisi signs a
contract to play for Sydney FC.

No further comment will be made on this issue.

I am absolutely gutted, freaking gutted. John Aloisi is my favourite Australian player to lace on a boot. When he signed as a Mariner, I was over the moon. To lose him to another A-League club, of all places Sydney, well ... I am shocked to be completely honest. Numb.

Last week was my best week of my life as a football supporter - the week after the Grand Final  loss and losing Aloisi is one of the worst (has to be behind our World Cup exit).

Such is life.

Alosi sucks a giant cock...

Why would he change, he had a alright season with ccm and it would have been a even better season for u guys.

I personally don't want him, so do many others. If we get him we will have 6* strikers ffs
Check out the Sydney forum. It seems James is not the only one who doesn,t want him!

F**K OFF Aloisi you money grabbing, easy chance missing has been.

We,ll find something younger and better for half the money in Sheffield, China, Hungary or Brazil !! :eek:verhead:

Theres a guy from sao paulo, his names aloisio

Mariners conclude contract negotiations with Aloisi

The Central Coast Mariners wish to advise that John Aloisi has concluded
his contract with the club effective today.

Over the past month, the club has been in discussions with Aloisi's
management with a view to exploring the opportunity for John to continue
his career with the Mariners.

During this process, the club tabled a major offer using its very best
endeavours to secure Aloisi's services well in excess of what the player
had been offered for the recently completed season.

During discussions with Aloisi's management, it became abundantly clear
to the Mariners of the earnings Aloisi could generate from other clubs,
both in Australia and particularly overseas.

After a lot of soul searching and as a result of this process, the club
advised Aloisi's management a fortnight ago that it would not be in a
position to increase its offer to Aloisi and further agreed that it
would stay silent on the matter until such a time as the player had
completed negotiations with other clubs.

"The Mariners wish to state that John has been an incredible ambassador
for the club and the Central Coast region both on and off the field and
that his stay at the Mariners has taken the club's professionalism to
new levels while, in addition, significantly enhancing the Mariners'
profile in the global football market place," said Mariners Executive
Chairman Lyall Gorman.

"At the end of the day, the club had to weigh up a decision to increase
the offer made to John while measuring such an impact against the future
financial certainty and viability of the club.

"Regrettably that decision was to withdraw from negotiations with John
and in so doing wish him and his wonderful family every success possible
in their future endeavours while always leaving the door open for him to
return to the Mariners in the future should the opportunity arise.

"Players of John's calibre both as a footballer and a person come along
very rarely and the club is both proud and honoured to have shared the
partnership it has with John over the past season.

"The club and the region will be a better place for John and his family
having been there and hopefully the club has also played a role in not
only in bringing John back to Australia while he still has so much to
offer, but in also contributing to the enhancement of the brand of the
Hyundai A-League overall in having done so."

Well... we have probably done the right thing.

There's so much to do now with the Academy and so forth, and the community will be gutted that Aloisi isn't with us. But how would they feel if we couldn't improve the level of player ability in the coming years because we'd hamstrung ourselves by forking out what seems to be a sh*tload of money on one player.

I also think Aloisi might have shot himself in the foot a bit by leaving the Mariners. I doubt he will now play in the ACL, ever.

Sydney's defence will be needing a revamp, and Poppa is not a spring chicken either (is he playing next season?). For how many goals Aloisi may bang in upfront, what's the chances that Sydney's defence will be a little fragile?

It really sucks that JA is leaving the CC Mariners . Worse still he is going to Bling. But for 1 million he is not worth keeping. I felt he started well for the CC. He had that goal scoring aurora about him and he produced with goals against Adelaide U,etc.

Since the New Year he hasn't been the same though. He is an unreal player and will always be one, however we witnessed JA miss some easy goals(not easy for us but for him easy enough) in the last 3 or 4 games.

Let him go CC we, but make sure he is replaced with a creative attacking midfielder and some quick defenders please.

I hope our style of play changes from the GF for season 4, we played as bad as all those dic$head journos said we would.

Kemeny Slams Aloisi

Aiden Ormond
Oct 24 2007 16:30

SYDNEY FC chairman Andrew Kemeny took a parting shot at Socceroo John Aloisi for apparently being too greedy when the club was negotiating with him.
For all the scenes from the press conference...

John Aloisi, without disclosing the amount of money he's on, was asking for the rest of the season that's till January which is less than half a season as much as the most expensive marquee signing, said a miffed Kemeny at today's John Kosmina press conference.

Aloisi signed for NSW rivals Central Coast last weekend after much speculation about his future.

I could probably get two or three Michael Bridges for that price," said Kemeny. "People said in the media we'd missed out. We hadn't. John priced himself out.

Kemeny added that the player would have a release to join a European club before the finals series if such an offer arose.

This contradicts what Mariners chairman Lyall Gorman has stated, saying Aloisi was at Bluetonge till the end of Central Coast's playing commitments for season three of the A-League.

The words will no doubt fire up the Socceroo who, from all reports, looked good earlier today in his first training session with the Coast ahead of Sunday's NSW derby against FC.

So now it seems that greed is a admirable quality...... & that Kemeny is no longer MIFFED!!!!!!!!!

Dont let the door hit your arse on your way out wanker.

For the reported $500k we paid him, did we really get value?? I dont think we did TBH.

Take your dodgy knee to Bling and wait for Jedi to ruin your season.

His hype has outshined his game play that's for sure. As I said earlier in this thread he missed several relatively easy shots in the last few games of the season and for a player of his stature, this is unacceptable. Probably the main reason CCM have NOT upped the offer in keeping him here. Sad to say club loyalty with most sports is a thing of the past, soccer/football is no different. The $$$$ is the be all and end all these days...

Right decsion by Lyall to let him go. Though we need to remember that without his input in the second half of the season we wouldn't be in Asia. Thanks for that JA and 16/11/2005.

Let's not loose sight of the fact that JA was signed as an Injury replacement for the remainder of V3 with the
VIEW to signing a new contact for V4. He contributed to us winning the Premiership and making the GF. It isn't as if he has done the dirty on us.

Why do people in all walks of life leave their jobs and go to another one - more pay. For Gods sake, wish him and his family well for the future and move on.. I am as sad as anyone but more things in life to worry about.

I am in the middle of council cleanup this weekend and am finding if very therapheutic - out with the old and in with the new!!  :p

Guys keep your shirts on.

Does anyone really think that we got our $500k worth for JA this season?

Have trust in the best club management in the A League

They will put a team on the padock that will do us proud

Remember as our coach as said all along he wants players that want to be here.

If J.A. wants to walk and get $1mill for 3 years good luck to him.

Boogs Vs J.A. next year will get me to the game for sure.

In the mean time it's off season relax have a cold beer & put your feet up........
