Just been watching some Guangzhou youtube..... Elkeson, Muriqui, Conca, Barrios. Any A-League team would be glad of one of them.
I'd like to see us try a 5-5-0 formation, with 100mm of rain and two games of league on the pitch the weekend before. Also I've heard Australians like to gather outside international hotels late at night and play percussion instruments.

i to, have been watching a fair bit of these guys on youtube as well.
their foreign legion is world class ,with the emphasis on class .
but they got Urawa early before they got into stride and beat the thai twice to qualify .
our defence will need to be sharp. the boys will be rested and ready . i believe
if monty and hutch can hold them. we'll cause them alot of problems.

So anyone care to hazard a guess as to why the Porn King has decided to restrict members to only 1 ACL ticket?

The saving of a few $ is irrelevant compared to sending a message to the most loyal (money wise) fans that they don't matter.

He's doing well isn't he? Pissed off the local association and now going after members.

I hear he has pulled the planned member plans for 2013/14 and redone it. Hence the delay in releasing it.

Anyone want to get he tries to milk us dry?

I have a really bad feeling about him TBH

Anyone who can click a link is a FF member.

Financial members of the club have just been screwed.

As your post seems to prove.

Insiders believe they will get 10k.

No, really, they do.

I've seen suggestions that Guangzhou are bussing 1500+ fans up for the game (whether they're actual GE fans or Sydney ring-ins like the Guizhou game is unclear).

Add 6-7000 Mariners fans, Juve/Italian fans wanting to see Lippi coaching a side plus those wanting to see Conca and Barrios play and 9-10k is definitely plausible.

Absolute bollocks.

The club have a core of maybe 5/6k fans in the regular season. That drops to roughly 3k in the ACL - a comp most people don't know or care about.

If it doesn't rain, maybe 6k. Most likely somewhere between 4 and 5. Tops

The chance was there to repeat the $10 tickets or kids for free and pack the place but yet again the club blew it.

Genius.

No it's ok, the Chinese students will fill over 3 bays. That's 1,500.

More than Sydney or the scum for a regular season game.

I posted on this at length last night as i thinks its madness. But deleted it accidentally.

This game won't go anywhere near selling out, so members pre sale is already meaningless beyond I get to sit a bit closer to the half way line than someone else. All they had to do was just offer Mariners members their discount and allow any and all to buy as many tickets as they want. Done.

Instead, tomorrow morning I will buy four platinum member tickets and that will be it. For the finals, with the two per member I was able to buy and bring eight to the game. I was very disappointed with that. I could easily have managed to arrange 12 or more.

By offering a members pre sale restricted to 1 per person, the only people likely to now be going are those who were absolutely guaranteed to be going on the first place even if you hid the ticketing information in Lliam Reddy's G banger. But now without bringing any of their non member friends, family and newbies. who just quietly they are hoping will get hooked and are constantly priming to become members.

Maybe they are forced into following some sort of FFA ticketing protocol or such that I'm not aware of. If so a big stink needs to be made. Otherwise, it is exactly the opposite approach of what will most benefit EVERYONE. Especially the clubs coffers.

Be interesting to see the figures. Talking ten? I'll be expecting 5K and rapt if there is 6K.

I actually don't think the prices are 'too' prohibitive. But 'restricting' the amount of tickets your allowed to 'purchase'?
I can't believe that in anything but a guaranteed sell out game, I can even hear those two words in the same sentence.

They need to be pulling out the stops in giving us the tools to get others to games. like the member bring friend passes and the like. Not making it all but impossible to take a large group to the game.

Would they make more money and have more fans there to support by offering members a free ticket with every 3 people they bring?

Incredibly hard not to believe so.

I have a really bad feeling about him TBH

. so far i am far from his biggest fan (charlesworth) and things like this at the medal dinner are not helping "i am trying hard to keep the team on the coast"

. but to be honest i somewhat agree with the one discounted ticket per member rule - people do need an incentive to become members ... but i can see most people disagree with the way it is being handled. the ticketing information suggests that you will get 'your seat' which means they have no other option - however i can't imagine the afc will allow this (i would assume they still want 'their tickets' in the best bays) - this will be proven/disproven later today i s'pose

. what does f**k all this up is the reduced ticket price and (second) priority for football family members. i mean there is no incentive to buy a membership when you get almost the same benefit (some may say better regarding ticket purchase options) simply for subscribing to the ffa spam for free!

. as for the free or discounted tickets for 'mates' i think they are finally drawing a line in the sand (i know they were already going to reduce the number of regular season tickets with your membership - perhaps it will disappear altogether now). simply put they have been doing this for years and look where it has got us - memberships have not (significantly) increased, crowds have not (significantly) increased ... and people are whinging about not getting more discounted or free tickets

. i am sorry but if your mates have not been encouraged by this over the years to buy there own tickets/memberships ... i don't hold much hope in them jumping on board by doing it one more time

. the tickets are relatively cheap ... buy one!

. if they don't completely f**k up the membership packages - buy one of them too!

I don't see what you are whinging about -
1. - You get a discounted ticket - If you buy in the allocated time - Reward for being a member
2. If you want an allocated seat - You get the pick of the bunch

Why should other members not get the best seats because another member brought 10 mates that have never been or don't care about the mariners - Members should be sitting together (You should know each other by look anyway as you are the one's who lay down the cash upfront wether you turn up or not & no matter what date or time the game is. Why should anyone else get the same service as you even if they are mates of members.

If you want to sit with your mates - Get GA seats - You get the discount & they can buy their own. You can still sit together. They haven't sat with you all year or coughed up there dough so why you want to sit with them now & not the other members?

It is a bit like the grand final whinging as well - Members come first - Not members friends who only want to come to the big games.

I am not a member - But believe the structure is right - I am part of the football family - Which is reward for being a football associated person without the same benefits of members - As it should be - Also I think you can now register to be a Football family member without being a registered player like it used to be - So register if your one off mates want some benefits to.

People get an incentive to be a member for the regular season. This stuff coming up is pure f**king cream. Why should we be mollycoddling people for what should be seen as privilege not a right? If I was Mike Charlesworth I'd be scratching my f**king head in bewilderment.
Why wouldn't we try to get as many of the football family to this game? The Coast has certainly proven by its absence that they're not to be relied upon for a crowd midweek.

The way it looks to me is that we are proving right all those people who said that Gosford was the wrong place for this team.

I would be selling GA tickets (bay specific) at $5.00 to anyone with a student card. Stick them all around the army let them suck up the "VIBE"(with apologies to the Castle)
