There wasn't anything anywhere that stated 'usual seats' (as with the MVFC semi), as such 2 or even 4 per membership seems reasonable since we've only got 3,000 members for a 20,000-seater which is unlikely to sell out.

I've only got 2 memberships but 2 others interested and thinking I'll just go to Ticketek at Bluetongue when I'm in Gosford on Wednesday arvo and get 4 together where I want.

Yep, this is what I will do in future.

At least with the limit (mostly - when I got my tix I was able to get 4x per card) of 1 ticket per member you should be able to get your own seat.

But then maybe we should let members get 10 tickets each so we can take up seats of members who sit there all year with some bandwaggoners instead.

Doesn't matter what the club does there will be one constant; it will never be right and people will complain.

Look, I get where your coming from Adz. I agree. You can't please everyone. But all complaints are not made equal either. I don't care if some "bandwagoner" gets my regular seat for an ACL game. I just care about the team having a big crowd behind them and the club making money. And for me in trying to do my bit, this 1 ticket restriction and the like gets in the way of that. I think that's a good healthy kind of complaint. And to be frank, I find it plain weird that in a stadium likely to be a third full I'm defending this position.

Anyhow, I'm done with it.

Meanwhile in the J-League with our Group H winners, it was Golden week & a golden win by Reysol against Yokohama F Marinos tonight @ Hitachidai. 2-1 with Kudo smashing a beautiful winner.

Tense though as Fujita ran through on our keeper knocking him out and forcing the sub late in the first. Some gritty play around the park mostly with Reysol parking the bus and holding on. Cleo put in a better shift this game, sharing with Kano (replacement for Leandro Domingues after risked and playing injured against Mariners last week!!!) my man of the match but damn Nakamura (fmr Celtic star) was a treat to watch.

Have earned the nickname from the hardcore as "Careca", as he is a deadset doppleganger

Discussed with the Reysol fans who visited Bluetongue, and most of them all said how beautiful things were, how excellent the beer tasted but couldn't get over how expensive things are!

. the relevant words in the email i received:

"in your same seats"

... but our regular little group bought tickets (together) online so we are sitting elsewhere

. nice rant FP :) ... but as you said there are other viewpoints which are no less valid ;)

. firstly you need to remember that there are a shitload of devoted mariners fans that do not post on here and do not have the 'opportunity' to have their views swayed ;);) - many of whom are members and have been from day one. i think they have every right to complain to the club they have supported so ardently throughout the years when it seems they are being taken for granted

. to them it seems every time there is an important match - such as this one - it is back to being every man for him/herself. i believe the club is only listening to these concerns ... the club has not been backward in asking for support recently, perhaps they are trying to reward loyalty in return (many would say - finally!)

. ticketing is always going to be a pain in the arse and something that is almost too difficult to get right. online, over-the-phone or in person purchases all seem to bring different variables in to play and the results vary - i think the one ticket rule is partly designed to make this simpler

. as for the 'members rights' ... we are assured of ticketing priority (although not sure if this applies to the acl) - simple. we are not assured of ticketing priority for our mates - reasonable. but the big thing is that nobody should be under any illusion that this is not a test ... a test of the people of the coast

. my opinion is that charlesworth has seen there is support (grand final, parade, etc) and seen that people will come out and create some atmosphere (the last acl game - midweek, no less) - what he hasn't seen is how willing they are to pay full fare to watch a game, or commit for a whole season - because this is what he needs to pay the bills. he needs to show there is a reason for buying a membership - he needs to grow the membership - he needs to be able to lock this money away early ... it will determine how he can afford to run the club for the season ahead

. oh and i understand where you are coming from, honest :p

Wonders aloud if they closed the top stands how that would effect costs and the look... My very rough guess is Bluetounge holds 20K ... the top stands say 7K... Say 8 to 9 K in the bottom stands .... just wondering which looks better... it's still like closing half the ground and the lights are on both sides...

Big Al, though I've forked out for multiple gold memberships since day dot mate, I sincerely couldn't give a shit if a thousand of your mates have better seats than me. I'd sit in the worst seats in the house every game if it meant big crowds would always be there to support our club. I don't get other people to go to games for my benefit mate, it's usually an absolute pain in the ass for me to organise that costs me time and money. I do it to help the club, plain and simple.

I seem to have different priorities than some, thats fine, people are entitled to their own views and desires. For mine, Im not really concerned by my member benefits, except that I take the club at it's word that getting more people to games is pretty bloody important - clearly so when you routinely struggle to pay your players. And in turn I expect their actions to be in accordance with this.

I think it's also important to note that plenty of people who are not members are also passionate Mariners fans. It's indicative, but not mutually exclusive. Some just have different obstacles in being members. I assume your among them Big Al. But don't lecture me on who I should and shouldn't want to sit with. I sit with a huge group of member friends and family all year - who are always inevitably spilt up when finals ticketing comes. For so many of us, the logistics are just too hard. We don't like it. But we accept it. You presume way too much mate. Like your who do we sing for rubbish.

As to just get GA tickets then, yep, that possibility had actually occurred to me (though the club makes considerably less money out of us) but as already stated, things are not always that black and white, and if you must know, my elderly father, whose had both hips replaced, likes to sit where he can get a great view. Member since inception. Insisted on being in the active support during the GF so he could help stand up against the RBB hordes, and he stood up and sang the whole time. I'm not going to deny him sitting where he wants just because I'm always trying to help the club get some more bloody gate money. But if I can make the two meet, sure, I always try to. And in this instance, with a stadium that will be doing well to be a third full, these kind of restrictions makes no sense to me. Even the last guy to buy a ticket next wednesday will still be sitting in a pretty decent seat. So I'm genuinely confused by the opposition. What vital membership rights and privileges are we preserving?

Hayson, boy you should have seen this place five years ago. The "whinging" I'm reading much more closely resembles the kind of "vital feedback" clubs across the HAL are supposedly going out of their way to start seeking to me - and it should be especially valid when coming from some of the clubs more passionate and devoted members who have the clubs best interests at heart.

I get that it's more enjoyable to talk team and the excitement of the upcoming game though. I agree. But to be fair, this stuff is important too, and right now it's pertinent. This isn't doom saying. Points are being made with reasonings behind them. And I haven't read a single unenthusiastic post about the game.

Current history proves this place is not full of negativity or negative people, so when people who are usually positive have an issue, I personally sit up and take notice. I really respect the views of all the established posters on here, and challenge and even quite often change my own point of view based on them. But it's a discussion forum, and to my mind, shutting down discussions with your a whinger unless you think whatever, is arguably the least worthwhile contribution anyone can offer.

For me it's like when people not in the bay come on here, complaining about them not being good or loud enough. That pisses me off no end too.

FP - I had to piss some one off sooner or later
First up my apology's for offending - It wasn't my intention although obviously has.

I understand your point - But it's the old can't please everyone but if you are going to please someone it should be the members IMO - But you say I am a member & I want seats for my mates - But other members might say stuff your mates they can sit next to me behind me I don't care just not in front of me (you get the point they get prickly over THEIR seat - Which is now the next argument they want to sit in their seat) - At the end of the day the benefit is for Members Only not Members Mates - If you want to bring mates then you will have to wait for either FF or General sale & sit together.

I think the only way to appease both would be to have (obviously to late now)
Day 1 - Members Only - You get your allocated season seat - 1 ticket 1 Seat only
Day 2 - Members Only - With Mate's allocation - You can buy as many seats as you like - Maybe even a reward for bringing so many friends etc. (say a discount off next years membership)
Day 3 - Football Family
Day 4 - The rest

Mate I applaud your efforts & understand that the more people you bring or I bring the better for the Team (But it's not your job to get them to come its the clubs - However the club would most certainly appreciate it) - I think you are getting shitty at that because u bust your gut to do it but are feeling ripped of for it - No one asks you to - But I'm glad you do. While you don't care where you sit I'm sure others do - It's probably like the RBB on GF - Every one wanted be in the bay for the GF & the regulars missed out & they were pissed off. I understand demand is not the same here but you need to consider what other members want too (they may prefer no one at the ground but them in there seat).

My obstacle to becoming a member is timing - Arrived on CC in last 6 months & have now attended 4 games with every intention of signing on to be a member with the missus next year.

Mate I never lectured you on who you can sit with (maybe a little) I just asked wouldn't you want to do that.

You contradict yourself as well - You say you want to bring mate's but then have a whinge - you sit with a large group of members who would like to sit together but it's to hard - Not for this game it's not - All members buy tickets & I am sure you will be near each other as long as you all want a particular grade of seating. "We don't like it but we except it" Well then why are u pointing out this when that is what I said all along - Only you & your member mates should be buying on day 1 & will be placed together. You and you Dad can sit where ever he likes because you are members & deserve benefits - Would he come If all my mates took all the good seats? (Probably because he sounds like a legend but others wouldn't).

Happy to debate you & recognise your parting chapters about challenges with merit or reason - I took a few hits from you - some deserved maybe some not - But I'm not precious & can take a smack when deserved. Maybe I am a little presumptuous but I have always acknowledged when proven to be wrong - I bet I'm not the only one Re: HDWSF & I bet there will be heaps more about it in the future

Good luck to you & I hope you don't loose the faith of bringing along as many as you can - Just remember IMO (not yours or anyone else's) those mates don't deserve the same treatment as you or other members - But I understand You may be able to convert some into members - Which then everyone wins -

Mmm I thought it was same seats too but when I booked today with ticketek over the phone my uual seats had been taken. Ticketek said members had priority to buy but not their usual seats. I dont mind but it would be nice if everyone was on the same page.

No worries Big Al. Except you could lose the whole " then have a whinge" angle and your posts would be less antagonising and the more for it I think mate.

I still obviously need to be clearer that this is not about being with mates though, or getting mates seats. I DON'T CARE. I already sit with the people who I care about. And they are members. Sometiems I've never even met the people I buy tickets for. It's just about getting more people to games. Period. And where I think this can be achieved without robbing members of anything, which in this instance I think it is abundantly clear it could be. I don't see how it serves anybody not to help this happen.

Anyhow, as said, I'm over it. Best of luck to all.

Club have just confirmed that they aren't budging from the 1 ticket per member.

We want to bring some non members (band wagoners attracted by GF win) therefore we will wait and just use our FF numbers as we can then get 4 per membership and only pay 1 booking fee per member.

The whole thing is such a f**k up I'm not going to buy tickets for mates like I usually do. Just going to buy on the gate and everyone else can fend for themselfs.
Amazing how the goodwill from the previous game can be ruined so quickly.

People get an incentive to be a member for the regular season. This stuff coming up is pure f**king cream. Why should we be mollycoddling people for what should be seen as privilege not a right? If I was Mike Charlesworth I'd be scratching my f**king head in bewilderment.
Why wouldn't we try to get as many of the football family to this game? The Coast has certainly proven by its absence that they're not to be relied upon for a crowd midweek.

Why are we making it hard for people....it's not a GF. The ticketing for this game is a joke.

What f**kwit ever said Gosford was the wrong place for a team?

back to the actual game. time to take off the 'frustrated at logisitics' hat and put on the 'joy at playing round of 16 in the ACL' hat for this part of the discussion

any thoughts on probable tactics? seems we'd go for a similar setup to last time, despite the loss we were better for the first 50 mins or so until running out of puff.
i think i read that Ever-cashed-up play a fairly attacking formation? I can see us being very compact and careful early. Arnie is sure to have some quiet plan going.

only 1 week to go now

Yeah I think excitement has turned to frustration as it's know been over a week since we've seen the boys play & after the jam packed schedule that is to long we are having withdrawals & getting ancy.

We need to go for the win at home - But can't concede goals - Think we will hold tight for the first 60-70 mins & see how things are going. if it's even or down one I think we will go for it from there. That's when Duke will arrive IMO.

What's the go with the away goals rule for AFC - Is it the same as the CL in Europe?

This is from Wikipedia, I haven't found an official document with anything about it...

Starting season 2013: the group winners and runners-up would play a two-legged tie to determine which club would progress to the Quarter Finals. Clubs would play each other on a regional basis. Aggregate goals decides the match winner. If the aggregate goals cannot produce a winner the away goals rule is used. If still tied the clubs play extra time, where the away goals rule still applies. If still tied after extra time, the game goes to penalties.

Wombat, its not being made hard for anyone. Those of us that have memberships got a discount & got in early. Those in the football family got in early.
If you aren't any of the above then suck a dick you'll have to wait. Just because we are members doesn't give us a right to bring any tom dick or harry before other people that aren't members. If you want to sit with the people you bring then buy them together. Its that f**king simple.

As for the goodwill being ruined I fail to see how giving you a concession on one of the biggest games we've ever played in is ruining anything.

As for f**kwits (agree on their status) saying Gosford was the wrong place, you just need to leave these boards & see what others have to say about our crowds (or lack there of) & financial position (or lack there of) to hear that line.

Whinging about this is f**king unbelievable. For me I was stoked that we got a discount. End of.
I'm positive that if they had not have offered the discount, members could have bought quantities. So why don't we just f**king shoot them for trying to reward us?
