From wiki on Rostyn...

"He signed a new one-year deal with Blackburn in January 2008"

So he would be out of contract now. Suprised nobody else is after him

Does that mean you'll still sing Sasho is a girls name?

Dunno, but you guys probably will  :p

It really should of been an ACL + next season deal though, instead of a 2 season deal

But anyway, good luck in the ACL guys...my hatred of your side ends when you are representing the nation.

FORMER Sheffield United star Keith Gillespie could today be unveiled as a surprise addition to Central Coast Mariners' squad for the Asian Champions League.
To see the new strips...

The Northern Ireland international quit the Blades on Friday and is said to be on his way to Australia to join up with the Mariners.

Central Coast were chasing the star on a loan deal from Sheffield earlier this season under the partnership with the club set up by Blades chairman Kevin McCann.

But just last week the deal was said to have fallen through and Gillespie would not be released by the club.

However on Friday, Gillespie walked out of Sheffield United after a lengthy spell on the sidelines after falling out of favour with boss Kevin Blackwell.

And the local paper Sheffield Star reported he could be on his way Down Under to join the Mariners as a possible replacement for Mile Jedinak, now playing in Turkey..

The Mariners are set to unveil their new-look strip for the Asian Champions League - understood to be a radical new yellow and blue stripes - and a mystery signing set to join them for the campaign.

The rumour mill had tipped Phoenix star Adam Kwasnik for a return to the Mariners for the ACL.

But Gillespie, 33, could be the shock revelation at the press conference this morning.

A club statement hinted only: "Joining [skipper Alex] Wilkinson in the Mariners new alternate strip will be a potential new Mariners signing that may join the club for the AFC Champions League, which begins with a fixture against Korean FA Cup winners Pohang Steelers at Bluetongue Stadium on Wednesday, 11 March."

Gillespie made 62 starts for Sheffield for four goals in a total of 97 appearances before he and the club mutually terminated his contract last week.

He is an English Premier League veteran with stints at Manchester United, Wigan Athletic, Blackburn Rovers and Leicester City.

He fell out of favour at the Blades but was determined to find a club to ensure he can add to his 80+ caps for Northern Ireland.

SASHO Petrovski has continued his journey up the F3 by signing for Newcastle Jets from Central Coast Mariners today.
Newcastle Jets this afternoon confirmed the signing of the 33 year old striker who began his A-League career at Sydney FC in 2005. He has now signed up on a two year deal at Newcastle.

Petrovski will be available on Matchday 1 of the Jets' first foray into the AFC Champions League when the team plays Beijing Guoan on Tuesday, 10 March, however he will not make the switch until the Mariners' 2009 Finals campaign has concluded.

A true goal poacher and one of the most prolific goalscorers in Australian domestic football for over a decade, Petrovski has already played for both of the Jets' intrastate rivals in the Hyundai A-League, Sydney FC and Central Coast Mariners, scoring 28 goals in his 85 games with the two clubs.

Before this he was one of the most potent strikers in the National Soccer League (NSL) competition, playing for the likes of Wollongong Wolves and Parramatta Power, and also enjoyed a stint abroad with Danish outfit Viborg FF.

"We're very happy to have Sasho on board, particularly with our venture into the Asian Champions League on the horizon," Jets' CEO John Tsatsimas said this afternoon.

"He brings a tremendous amount of experience to our squad, especially on the domestic front which will certainly be of great value to us moving forward. Having been such a dominant figure in Australian domestic football for some time, he will be someone that our younger players can learn and draw knowledge from.

"Goalscorers of Sasho's calibre, and with his excellent record, are quite difficult to come by in Australia and his presence in the final third is an attribute which makes him an ideal recruit for our club.

"We wish Sasho all the very best of luck in this year's Finals Series with the Mariners, but we're also very much looking forward to having him here in Newcastle when he joins the rest of our team," he said.

Fury have apparently called a Press Conference for 11am tomorrow morning.

With today meant to be the day that Fowler makes his decision, I have a feeling he's coming down under.

Why would Constanza, or anyone, want to be a jet?

Makes you wonder if our club have even considered him at all
