Great atmosphere for the numbers we had. My only request would be that the brass band come out with some new material besides the Tetris theme- it's a great song to appropriate, but playing it too much is making it become the football version of "It's a small world".

May I suggest more playing of "Can't help falling in love with you" and "Yellow Submarine"?
They allready play yellow submarine but maby "we can't be beaten"

Superb night.

Well done Mossy. Good positive changes with Sim with license to defensively roam a smart final roll of the dice.

Right when we first picked up Sim he was advertised as a left sided player but never a back. He works his but off but gets caught short when we under the pump. The 3rd MV goal he didn't get back (neither did Grif enough) even though we were chasing the game.
Rosey is definately a better defensive LB.
But
Sim has showed energy & enthusiasm. I wondered if we would play him higher up but never thought we would as he is a spare part in theory.

But left winger really suits him & I dare say his more natural position. His hussle caught the japs napping at the end as everyone was holding off the player he attacked which he could do as if they went by him wouldn't matter to much. Great effort & now a realistic sub in an attacking sense as well as cover for Rosey. He will definately be in a lot of match day squads & should make a few appearances. Great pick up.

Not sure but maybe the band should move around for the ACL games.

In the right corner between the 18 yard box & goal line.

You will get a better view & be in the thick of the fans without encroaching to much. The whole stadium could then pick up the major chants if they wish.
Like Come on you Yellow & Blue (easy copy what was said on the mega)

There's plenty of room.

The band was awesome. Didn't even watch the last 5 before half time to busy enjoying the march.

Got to say was mighty worried at the start. Saw you all out the front as I crawled over from the club & thought should be inside oh well still 5 to go.

Then no sign of you & I thought "oh o" what are protesting about. Then the YA started chanting but looked a bit lost & it was oh Shit.

Then Boom - Here comes the drum here comes the drum.

Nice entrance but maybe don't leave it so late next time.

To the security - BOO to the head security who righted the wrong - Lucky.

I wonder if the players were confussed hearing the boos.

Great to see the guys get some confidence. When the Japs were probing side to side then were forced back to 1/2 way & the crowd applauded the effort you could see the boys getting excited.

They were finally getting some luck with solid effort & the crowd had there back.

Soon as game was over Zac was clapping the crowd before shaking hands.

Surely the AFC have rules about how tight a man's shorts can be.

P.s the ref's are shit house. Just throw a coin you have a better chance of getting it right

Great result for the Mariners tonight, bit disapointed at the crowd number but on a Tuesday night with sweet FA advertising i can understand the number.

Loved the band march through the stand, maybe we could make it a tradition if we are winning with 5 to go the YA band do a march through the Eastern stand? Although could come back to bite us if we concede late haha.

Even though we only had a crowd of 2k it felt like there was more with the atmosphere that was being created so kudos to everyone for that

brilliant win last night

I vote for Bosnar to do the post match interview every week, he looked mad as hell!!!!

hehe I really enjoyed his post match interview

I think steady eddy was f'king with the japs heads .
he knows the Asian psyche .the japs won't be happy they got physically owned
they've lost face . that is huge for Asians .
they could get carried away and believe they have to belt us to "save face" on the return leg. rather than high quality ball playing
i believe this is the rope a dope play the japs can't resist . just quietly

What amazes me, as one who was not there, is how, despite a very small crowd, everyone has commented on how good the atmosphere was. Makes you proud to be a Mariner:overheadl:

I couldn't make it but saw on TV - the crowd was absolutely phenomenal

I thought the refereeing was the best I've seen in the acl ever

the team was brilliant - positive, aggressive but clean, defensively intelligent, confident and best of all took their chances.
the best thing is they're on a high now and KNOW what they can do. oh my yes

the band should jointly win Australians of the year.

I didn't go as I still had loads to do on the new gaff but I watched in on the box and I have to say the support was fantastic.

Absolutely brilliant and the 2000k in the stands were fantastic as well.

That was probably the loudest I have ever heard us on tv.....amazing effort. Those 40 or 50 peeps in bay 16 should have a shrine erected in your honour. It was spine tinglingly good.

The pussies (me included) that found an excuse not to go...should hang our collective heads and marvel at the Rourkes Drift spirit of the hardy souls that supported the boys, supported the club and supported the coast....not just in bay 16 but also in the stand.
I salute you Yellow Army folk and all who attended and yelled for the yellow.

I will be there for every game for the rest of the season.

COYY.
