Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

That was one of the best nights of being a Mariners fan in 8+ years. The feeling was like the 3-2 away to Sydney in Season 1.
Result aside, (...and in spite of the reported crowd) the atmosphere, OUR atmosphere was brilliant. Massive props to YA, PP and band but the whole of the stand in use was well in tonight. The joy of the players and Mossy at F/T

Hope you saw it, Mike.
(With the greatest respect...) Arnie, were you watching?

Superb night.

Mile 3pts
Monty 2pts
Mossy 1 pt

We rode our luck, but we deserve a share at last. Sometimes I think we must break mirrors, kill albatross, f**k over leprechauns and hang out with black cats all week long.

Mile has been exceptional this year. Easily his best season in the HAL and showing why he was a socceroo. Terrific swan song to date.
Worries me how we defend, or don't rather, our flanks - poor storm was 1 against two a bit to often for my liking. It's much harder against the
J League sides though, they have the technical ability to hit 70 yard passes consistently and switch play much better than any of our HAL sides.

Anderson was also awesome again I thought, he can continue wearing Weemacs shorts all season if he likes. (I can only assume he lost a bet)

Well done Mossy. Good positive changes with Sim with license to defensively roam a smart final roll of the dice.

Our first J league opponent to be sunken. And without our canon shot fired... I assume that's the AFC rules.
Why don't they just stop our band from marching while they're at it....
oh wait...

Lastly well done active support/band and all the crowd. Awesome effort. Great atmosphere.

Are there any lyrics for the marching tune?

Wow! Sterkovski! Wow! Football can drop you from a great height and lift you to the Heavens. Wow!
Unfortunately I was only able to see half of this game due to family commitments (which means my regular 'readers' will be spared trawling through my usual rubbish ;)). Fortunately it was the first half! :)
Awesome shot from beyond half way; lucky there wasn't another metre on it.
From ecstasy of Reddy's save to despair at their goal.
Kim's pass and Sterjovski's goal earning them both redemption.
Sterjovski's second rolling back the Socceroo years.
Matt Simon going down and staying down.
Bosnar leading from the back
Monty and Hutch in midfield
The passing and confidence of the whole team
The defending of the whole team
Mossy's guts to make wholesale changes and the changes working
Mossy keeping his promise to attack
The band, the support, the atmosphere (and I wasn't there but it sounds as if it was brilliant)
ANDO's SHORTS! CHESTY BOND! Warwick Capper promised he could keep them if we won :innocent:

Kim man marking their playmaker was a key tactical move, plus using subs early, kudos moss!

The opposition played with fear, mariners did everything with conviction and a cohesion we haven't seen since the grandfinal.

Massive game for this season, ACL and mosses career! I bet Zane let off a few expletives, his job on the weekend just got a hole lot tuffer

. my view on the ... ummm ... hot topic of the night - big zach's shorts:
  • the acl kit is a slimmer fit than the usual slim fit
  • and quite simply he is a big boy (both before and after the ice bath :innocent:)
  • so he needs to pull them up so as not to restrict circulation

I'm an idiot savant without the pesky savant bit
well... i'll be honest and say I thought we would get reamed.......the boys were up for it and Sterj...just WOW...not bad for an old bloke huh....kims vision that led to goal one was superb and goal two was just sublime, one of the best seen at BT methinks...to be fair i thought matty simon might of got walked the way him and that jap were carrying on like porkchops..and as for Zacs daks...geez

NOW to bay 16 ...i was talking to fish and harry during warm up and we were a bit concerned about bay numbers...BUT...the YA came thru as did the noisy Brasstards and the bay and 2000 other soles sung our hearts out for 96 minutes...the circuit by the boys after the game was brilliant...Sterj looked like he would be out there all night....and the refs werent that shite

Great atmosphere for the numbers we had. My only request would be that the brass band come out with some new material besides the Tetris theme- it's a great song to appropriate, but playing it too much is making it become the football version of "It's a small world".

May I suggest more playing of "Can't help falling in love with you" and "Yellow Submarine"?
