I`m not one for changing coaches mid-season.

In saying that Mossy does need a kick up the backside.

The team selections have been all over the place.
Players like Roux can`t even get on the bench & others play well (Cernak v City) but get dropped from the side.
It really is a chook lotto to get into the side.

Then we have players like Duke playing out of position. FFS if he`s going to be a midfielder/ winger at least play him on the right side.

Then there is the style of play.
The constant passing with no direction or purpose is just bloody ridiculous. We defend for the opposition it seems.
At least try to catch the opposition out by playing direct sometimes!
Hey mossy why am I not playing this week?
Well you played well but you didn't win the chook raffle. Better luck next week and don't bother hoping your replacement plays bad because its all about the raffle

Rudan is doing well in the lower leagues as a coach. He was a solid player and going by his commentary, he understands the culture and mindset. He should be cheap as he is unproven in the a league. Mossy obviously had had 18 months, 3 transfer windows and a preseason. The team just keeps getting worse. I don't think a change to a unproven coach is any risk at the moment

After what happened today, what's everyone's thoughts on hutcho as a future ccm coach?

Asking him to be an instant success would be going all in before seeing the cards.

To be fair to both him and the club, I hope we're a way off asking him to be the gaffer.

My understanding was that it is paid directly by the FFA to the players to avoid the issues of non payment that have happened at some clubs in the past: http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-07-01/clubs-see-slight-raise-in-new-a-league-pay-deal/4791864 "FFA club distribution payments will also be tied to salaries to ensure players get paid, avoiding similar situation as caused by defunct franchises Gold Coast United and North Queensland Fury where players were left in limbo when the clubs folded."

That being the case why would you not use as much of the cap as possible when it isn't coming from the club?

. i have raised this in the past but nobody has taken up the discussion

. there is a rumour that our cap allocation gets 'docked' if we don't meet certain KPIs such as crowd numbers and TV viewing audiences

. this, of course, is a chicken and egg situation:
  • poor timeslots = poor attendances and ratings
  • less money spent or to spend = less quality on the park
  • less quality = lower audience
  • lower audience = worst timeslots
. the club is shooting itself in the foot by not spending money and the ffa is shooting themselves in the foot if they 'dock' our allocation

. the ffa should be supplementing us rather than penalising us (if the rumour is true of course)

Supposing I buy into the argument that more $ automatically means better players (which I don't)

. really?

. i know this is an oversimplification, but - would we not be better off with bernie and the wee-man in our side?

. both of whom left the club for rival HAL teams for more money (allegedly ;))

The point is, they were found before they could command that money. Moss needs to find them & play them. We may already have those guys. He's just turning the selections into a cluster f**k.

I'd give him the rest of the season to show he is building something. Then if it keeps going tits up I'd give him the chop.

Putting Hutch in immediately as coach could be very much like the Aloisi experience at Heart.

Sydmariner, just for you! ;)

That is, unless you thought that Hutch would do even worse than Aloisi - and I'm not sure that that's possible ;)

No problem after he has gained experience and proven himself capable.
Say at least some success with youth teams, maybe a stint with an NPL club and 2-3 years as HAL first team assistant.

so long as the KPI is measured against size of population then it would be reasonable, however, I would be very surprised if this rumour is true as it is counter intuitive to a successful competition.

That also gives time for the team to evolve so that few if any played along side Hutch if he was to coach us in the future.
ie Bosnar & Mossy

After that second half performance I'd say a change is now required, there must be some serious questions being asked in that changing room and I'd be for bringing someone like Rudan in to steady the ship. Surely there are better coaches out there than what we've got today who can get more out of a very average

Second half was a complete rollover. We created nothing, and kept 5 in the backline even when we were 0-1 down.

Players who in the past have been good, can now hardly complete a pass, and all players are low on confidence.

We are going further backwards every game, and this includes the incredibly lucky win last week where we were rubbish for 95% of the game.

Crowds are declining because they are sick of the boring, defensive rubbish that we dish up.

Moss must go, and quickly, if we are to survive as an A-League club.

Kossie wanted to be positive last night on fox and he said I'd like to be but they keep doing things wrong instead positively.

All panelists agreed.
