110*

They could hardly run at the end. They were dead... but still some how defied the odds (once again) and pulled threw to hold the win.

I reckon QLD will go and win next week. They played pretty good on Friday... far better than the Scum.

After the game when leaving the field and on the middle part of the stairs, I saw what made me so proud.

In the car park on every level were people hanging out over the drive way waving Mariners flags, the marinators were in full song in the middle of the street outside the clubs entrance.

There were yellow in the street everywhere the night was still, cool but not cold, street lights shown bright (given all the rain recently they were claer of dust) Lights from Brisbane waters shown off the water.

I looked and I said to our group look this is spirit ....whatever doubt anyone had..........FOOTBALL HAS A HOME ON THE CENTRAL COAST AND NOW HAS DEEP ROOTED SUPPORT WHICK IS GROWING.

Fire up alright. I am fired up.

F the Scum we won.

I hope someone got photos of the car park and street after the match

The rails on all levels of the CCL carpark had people lined up, soaking in the atmosphere and taking photos and singing along with the chants down below.

Second to none.

Well, I think the Mariners have shaken off whatever has been bugging them in recent weeks because they played like Champions tonight and decided to turn up to play and take no prisoners.

Holland got taught a lesson in the middle of the park, and I noticed he looked more the boy than the brash youngster with the strut after a decent shellacking from Hutch, Gumps, Jedi and co. Good luck with that psycho Tiatto next week! I believe Danny is already calling Holland his prison bitch for the night.

I thought it very much a gamble to play Song straight off the plane. In Finals football you'd need to be 100% aware of where your players are - bringing in a new player could have easily upset the apple cart. Hoffman didn't do any worse than Song, so why risk the new player? Silly tactic.

Spencer was brilliant with his back passing, which increased the pressure on his backline, and his ill timed shots at goal were as expected - miles high, or  wide.

It's bs to say that Griffiths J. wasn't on the park, but he certainly wasn't at his best. I felt he's been covered up a fair bit in the last couple of matches by the Mariners and no doubt Frankie will be looking at the replays to see how it is done. Expect Craig Moore to be at his cranky best and roger, fist first, the blonde haired dickhead from the Jets. It ain't gonna be pretty and if I was Joel I'd be seeing the Dr. about a Medical Certificate about his hamstring so he can be excused from playing next week.

Kwassi played very well, in my mate's eyes he was best on the park for the Mariners, and he's a tough judge. When he scored the goal, all that could be said was "the x factor", something out of left field (literally!!) and unexpected, as the Jets players seemed to let Kwassi get in close and waited for him to offload to Saso or JA. But he didn't! Ran his guts out, as did most of the Mariners.

Well done, congrats on making the GF. After what I saw tonight, if they come out with that attitude for the GF they'll win it.

About the crowd. After seeing 3 seasons at Bluetongue, it was pleasing to see the crowd in recent weeks get behind the players and have the stadium go off. Tonight was the loudest, and probably marked the maturity of the supporters who now realise that it's OK to make some noise. Credit for this and the atmosphere at the stadium should go to those who have stood in the rain, in blaring sun, and have sung themselves hoarse week in, week out -the Marinators. They (we) have done it when crowds were only 5K and very reluctant to join in with any noise (for fear of being branded a 'sokkah hooligan' or 'uncool'), and now must be acknowledged for providing the 'norms' at the stadium with regards to active spectating. Savour the moment Marinators, it's what we've been trying to get happening and it's finally arrived!

It must be pleasing to Marinators and Mariners' officials and players alike, to see the Central Coast community come out to a football match in large numbers and get very vocal in their supporting. After 3 seasons this has been achieved, and surely the future must be looking bright for the whole venture and football in general.

Has the 'giant' woken up? Not sure, but there is some disturbance in 'the giant's' sleeping pattern of late!

Just got home... Man, what a night... :D

I think a lot to do with the noise tonight was that some of the Marinators were split up from bay 16. I know over where I was in bay 6 there was a lot of noise going on, there was Mariner mum and her lot, and dad (Kev), my sister and myself and a few others near us, also to the left of us there was a lot of people chanting away. I think the presence of a few of us throughout the bays helped others join in...

I must admit from where I was in the middle of the field I could hear the Jets quite well, but at the same time I could hear the Marinators and other vocal fans getting into it throughout the whole stadium... I was also impressed that towards the end of the game most of bay 15, 16 and 17 were up and yelling, jumping etc.. looked really good.. :D

Good on you boys for playing the best game ever, and good on you supporters for being there and supporting your team.. :D

I guess no one noticed Nigel Boogaard...

Boogard would have to come  a close second to Jedi for man of the match. I would not swap anyone tonight. Awesome, guttsy performance from all involved. Gumps really stepped up when asked. Hope he stays for one more.
I think that Gumps did a great job, and mentalchick(my sis Kerensa) thought that Boogard was the best player tonight...

just a quick one before I get some rest, a special mention to Clarky and Gumps. After 2 injuries they come on as a new right side combination and both absolutely killed it. So both intense around the ball and showed the central coast spirit. The whole team played well but just so proud of those two for the efforts they put in from off the bench.

Also best pic of Donny ever there floss.haha. Need Donny Parkes shirts made up with that pic on the front.

Absolutely stunning result tonight! Fantastic for the boys and the Central Coast.

The celebrations outside the Club were something very special.

Highlight had to be heading home after the match, and seeing a car full of bogan fans on the side of the road getting a speeding fine!

Priceless! I laughed so hard I nearly ran off the road.

YouTube vids to follow...

I don't think I've heard Novocastrians use the C-word that much since the last time the Knights got knocked out of the finals in the NRL lol

ps. My Jets luvin brother was very impressed the way the grandstand shook over in bay 26 when we did the 'pongo dance' during the match!

Boogs showed tonight that he is probably the best defender in his age group in Australia. Play LB, no problem.

Green and Gold for him one day

What a night! - my first Derby at Bluetongue. It was great that some of the surrounding bays of Bay 16 really got into it last night.

Everyone on that team played really well and if JA missed a few - SO WHAT. That is what a TEAM is, he missed and SASHO didn't. Again, the back four have clicked into place nicely. Viddy, they can call you an ancient Mariner, but you are showing your experience in these crunch games. LUV YA  :-*

I couldn't beleive the scenes outside the stadium after the match. I had to go into the club for a quite squash before venturing into the car park for the drive back to Sydney.

Too easy to leave major contributors out when there were so many.  Gumps gave us so much width.

Clarky was awesome he was the epitome of Mariners spirit last night, harassed all night and never gave up.
