ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

Turbulence (then calm sailing, then turbulence) thread.

It's an interesting observation. It just goes to show that the as much as Charlesworth would like to believe, the "market" on the Central Coast isn't exhausted.
Absolutely.
The peninsula is woy woy, umina and ettalong etc.....not to be confused with the Silvertail peninsula on the Northern beaches of Sydney.

I lived at Nth Balgowlah, Manly, Curl Curl and Wheeler Heights until it was time to buy a house.....not having a lazy million I moved out of the area and am very grateful to have ended up on the Central Coast.

Sydney sucks balls but the Nth Beaches is the only place to live if you have to live in that City.
LOL you're wrong. Spit Bridge, Military Rd and ridiculous bus routes mean the northern beaches can suck a fat one. Give me the inner west, or give me the coast.

Come on those legendary double length bendy buses were great....only took an hour from Harbord.

Inner west is ok in small doses but choking on fumes in the morning as opposed to a 30 min ferry ride from Manly to CBD. The beaches win every time.

I heard today that the Mariners are late with some of the employees wages. Reputable source. Not a player but connected to the playing group. I'm not willing to name names at this stage. No players are affected as yet, but word is that if one of the playing group doesn't get paid, they're all walking out.

Oh FFS... We actually made it through the whole season without this s***, then it shows up again now....
I suppose the silver lining is that it's better to have it happen in the off season than during the season.

God I hope your wrong ... TBH if we can't pay wages I start to question what we are doing staying in the league ... I so sick of this year on year out ...

Either get some owners that can pay or go to the National Premier League ... I suppose there is always South Melbourne

Direct from someone who would know (again, not willing to name a name) that wages are always paid on time.

One of our sources either doesn't know as much as they think or not being 100% honest.

I have spoken to a couple of staff who were all paid and I am told all salaries last month were paid on time. There is still a lot of money outstanding to businesses, the stadium and council i believe but not to staff or players.

I have also heard that the relationship with CCF has broken down. CCF were going to give $150K or something to assist in funding the academy but that is now not happening. Not sure whats happening there

That would be a telling question for the Fan's Forum!

I thought the rumors were the FFA paid the players from the TV deal direct?

Was it a timing issue - E.g expect to be paid thursday but was in bank friday but due to our history any late payment is big news?

I'm happy to assume it's not true. My source is pretty close. As for the other stuff bilo said, I didn't ask those things so I've no idea if they're true or not. I've heard them rumoured before.

Overpriced coffee? $3 is overpriced? Hipsters bother me not and Parramatta Rd is no worse than the Pacific Highway, Epping Rd, Military Rd...

Plus, I live here, so it's automatically awesome.

Sorry everyone, I shouldn't have posted this… but did so after a few pre State of Origin bevvies. However, what's done is done. I shall endeavour to find out more details. Suffice to say, for what it's worth, my source appears in The Code, i.e. not a bit player in the club and hence my reluctance to name him (or her).
