Redmayne.....whoa...not as bad as Trotty but still very scary

Really? Where was he scary??

He is a 19yo kid making his senior debut away to a side in the semi finals of the ACL. He missed 1 cross - thats all and its called learning.

He made at least 3 excellent saves especially the one from dodd in the 1st half.

As for Porter, you do know he is totally right footed and had to play on the left I suppose?? Even Slater worked that out.

Good to see such character from the Mariners.

A couple of goals in a match can't be too far away from Caceres.

Put Matty Simon down for 2 goals tonight; he so earned that penalty that Jedi nicely slotted away.

Hmmmmmmmm, don't quite know what to make of the game.  The first half hour from us was garbage - pure, unadultered garbage, and it's this kind of shit that we are serving up far too often, especially defensively.  I hope the Wilko apologists will finally realise the dead horse they are flogging and doubly realise that Jedinak would be a far superior captain for this team.  Aside from one great tackle in the second half, Wilkinson was a disgrace tonight.  Again.  Seriously, time to go.

I was stunned to see a tactical change in the second half, that's not normally something we do (to be fair), but hey, it worked.     Perhaps something to bear in mind for the future??

As for the refereeing...... I think others have said it best elsewhere.  Suffice to say the standard really needs to be adressed.  Now.

Odd as it might seem, I felt very "meh" about this, even though I was super duper excited all day, and braved rush hour Friday afternoon peak Hong Kong traffic to make it back to the hotel in time to watch on the Australia Network, AND even though we did get a point we didn't deserve.  'Tis a funny old game that way I guess??

Stringers had a very strong call for a penalty at the end though...

just watched it on the replay - had we been paid the stringers penalty it would have been a total get-square, because it was the same deal. ball first, attacker falls over.

Slater is a f**king tool!!! On fox sports after the game he blamed Eugine for Jedi's strike and game him absolutely no credit for the dip, curl and power he put into that strike. This Toe rag makes me sick and rates Jacob Burns above Jedinak. Baring Simon Hill, Fox sports need to look at replacing these twits that are representing their network. Slater was ranting on about some shit and when he was finished Hill just said "mmm yep" and went onto something else totally disregarding the utter manusia that this goose had just spilt. f**k Him Off  :soapbox:

I hope I'm wrong but I can't Jedinak staying too much longer here on the coast, he is the Jedi Knight and best player in the A league by a country Mile.

That would have been great

Thought Wilko had a fairly good game. Did far more work than one great tacke - certainly enough to keep his first team inclusion beyond doubt

We are leaking far too many goals, just like V2.
Overall agree that defensively, work is needed. But fortunately the V2 problem where we couldn't buy a goal doesn't exist on V4 where 1/3 through, and we are the top scoring / best attacking side in the league.

EAT THAT TROLLS AND FOXSPORTS  :pirashoot: :pirashoot: :pirashoot:

And Matty Simon curently top scorer  :eek:verhead:

The cameras flashed over a small pocket of Mariner supporters a few times but if you blinked while watching you would have missed it.

I saw you guys on TV long enough to read your banner and almost count the number of yellow shirts. I also noticed what looked like Victory colours behind the goals at your end, celebrating the mariners 2nd half goals.

Top draw, as draws go!

Well, well! Quite a bit of fight shown last night, and change of tactics through the game. Lawrie made a substitution in the 57th minute!

One mistake by Redmayne (coming out for a cross that was flighted higher - defence didn't help) but otherwise another great display.  Caceres showed he is a great pickup as he battled to get into the game and shake off that thug Salley. Saso's guile is showing through more than his ego, and I think Wilko gained a little in confidence. Jedi? Well what more can we ask?

I was thinking in the first half ... "they are playing as well as against Glory but getting done". Can they lift ... and that did just that! Well done.

I think all we need is one commanding central defender!

Always amused at people who have made their minds up before the game starts as to how each player will play. Wilkinson in my opinion was excellent, good reading of the game, good distribution, solid defending but not in the opinion of some others. Were we watching the same game? Nor do I recall anyone from Foxsports saying we were defensive or boring. For my money we were playing an Adelaide team who are in excellent form and who got off to a flyer because of a referee's mistake and a rookie goalkepper's mistake. What impressed me was that we still kept playing football (both sides played some excellent football, a tribute to the improving standard of the A league); even so, I thought we were dead and gone at 3-0. Credit where credit is due our character shown through, McKinna made a good tactical change for a change  (who said McAllister was pants? obbviously again watching a different game). Simon was extraordinary - is this really the same kid who couldn't hit a barn door last year? Is it the same kid with the first touch of a Teflon frypan? Wow! He was fabulous. And Jedinak eventually did what he does best - he RULED. (and btw he is behind Burns in the Socceroo pecking order after Burns display against Uzbekistan). In summary, the whole team made me proud, very proud, to be a Matiners supporter

100% Mick, Lawrie said it at the end of season do at CCLC and we have been crying out for an absolute mongrel bastard (Ogmonster, Musc**t type player).

We also need Greg Owens fit and firing in the MF too.

Also can someone give me a summary of McAllisters contribution?? No? Didnt think so

TBH, Mile probably had his worst half of football for us in that first half. When the tactical change came he totally dominated.

We were in an outside box with the radio and when Williams gave that penalty I just exploded. People were just a metre away from me and just staring - really weird.

And when we scored the third goal - whoa did I go nuts!

Scoreline should have really been 4-3 as Nutmeg also scored last night. Adelaide truly is sin city for Mariners' fans.

Simon Hill stated at the end of the game and I tend to agree with him that the presence of Macca seperated the back 4 who were dominating until to his inlcusion. He gave more space for the strikers to work into and we saw the benefits with Simon's goal. Top piece of commentry there by Hill

i thought we were f**ked at 2-0. at that point nothing had gone right. then when we made seemingly a dozen good chances and they all stayed out, and then at 50 minutes we conceded again i was feeling pretty flat...

penalty came and i thought, yeah, ok. then at 3-2 it was obviously game on, and when we went to 3-3 i thought for a moment we might get 5 or so...

while the goals came late, you can't say we didn't deserve the draw from all the chances we made that stayed out.

According to Lawrie, McAllister's job was to challenge the central defenders and distribute to Sash and Simon. Can't recall much of that happening but will watch the game again today. Must admit, my head was down until after Jedi's second goal so wasn't paying full attention.

I also noticed during the Foxsports interview after the game, Lawrie was very impressed with McAllister's contribution up front.

Hopefully Pim was watching last night because he should be also looking at Adrian i think a live spark in the mid-field would do wonders for Australia. And if Simone's dosent play or get onto th bench pim is a crazy man a real loopy. haha
Simones once again is the king of CCM wooow. :eek:verhead:

Is this a kid that could be the Steven Menzies of the Central Coast Mariners be here till he is 35 he is getting the looking with the national squad and in the past thats why player have moved over seas because they wanted to play for Australia.
