ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

No idea who this "Simones" person is, but we do have an awesome player in our team called Matt Simon. ;D

Not sure why you feel the need to make a comparison with an NRL player. A-League is a top flight national competition in its own right with direct links to Asian Championships where competition between 28 teams from 14 countries is fierce. The best players in our competition can be offered opportunities with the Socceroos and play in a World Cup that involves 204 countries and a final series consisting of 32 teams. By contrast, the Rugby League "World Cup" consists of a measley 10 teams and a 3 team final series. This is not to mention the multi-million dollar deals available in Europe.

Sure, Beaver Menzies is a nice guy and a handy rubgy league player, but where Beaver has spent his professional career bears no comparison to the opportunities that could come Matt Simon's way in coming years.

Menzies had no alternative but to stay in the NRL whereas the world game offers the "Wizard of Woy Woy" a path to fame, riches and glory overseas.

I understand the analogy though and from a fans perspective it would be fantastic to see a local junior stay at the club. If he continues to develop at this rate, he wont stay sadly (for us).

A year or two and he could be a v handy player for a Championship club where his presence and ability to play the target would make him a useful player in what isa really physical comp.

Go Matty

Did fox actually show us at all????

We ended up having people from Melbourne stand with us for the game
I saw you guys on TV long enough to read your banner and almost count the number of yellow shirts. I also noticed what looked like Victory colours behind the goals at your end, celebrating the mariners 2nd half goals.

The melbourne people were on end of season trips and they decided to stand and chant with us.

tbh this could be a turning point.
This game could end up being much more important than 1 point when 0 seemed likely!
The way we responded, the way we came back, the resilience!
It's remarkable. That will give us self belief, something that may be crucial throughout the season!

Maybe it was because we (wife and I) watched this match in  Newcastle pub with Mariners cap and T-Shirt ........ but this was a club defining thing I think we showed real steel.......Hutch IMO will find it difficult to back as the centre mid.

At 3 all the wife had to clam me down ...... BUT THIS IS OUR YEAR.

No idead how we will keep Jedi & Matty for Hal 5 ......... but lets be glad we have them for Hal 4.

I think he would have trouble competing with an EPL salary, don't you? Football doesn't need NRL as a benchmark - indeed, the NRL should use football as a benchmark. Anyway, the thread is about round 7 in Adelaide, not Beaver or NRL.

if you werent thrilled by our comeback you should try bungee jumping or something just to prove to yourself that youre human.

Maybe it was a lack of anything else resembling another Mariners fan anywhere nearby??  I can only assume the Kendall went mental last night...... to be honest, I changed channels at 3-0, and a text telling me it was 3-1 made me curious enough to switch it back.

Still extremely worried about our defence.

Watching at home, drink + book. got more into the book as the game went on.

At 3-1, look up sometimes.

At 3-2, Jumped up - book gone

At 3-3, Get odd look for using the expression "get that into ya, ya..........."

when i saw perms quote, i thought he was to say to to bungee jump so you could experience a come-back yourself... seeing as you bounce back up and all... bit of a let down when i finished reading it.
