For most of the game, the team showed encouraging signs. The construction of play was definitely better. However, dominance could not be turned to goals simply because there aren't the players there, the X-factor, to grab a game by the scruff of the neck.

The statistics this year are alarming. No wins in 2009, no goals at home since the 4-3 loss to Queensland. It's not a form slump, it's a decline which will be really ugly if it's not reversed.

What a f**king disgrace. What a f**king embarassment for the code in this country. I'm not sure what was worse: our inability to score again or the deplorable theatrics of the Chinese. I've just about had enough and may well join the many who only bother with soccer/football when the Socceroos are playing. I certainly want nothing to do with the shite that I saw tonight.

This shows we're not the only ones frustrated with that crap.

Despite our chronic inability to score, I thought our short passing game was pretty good. Especially in the first half. Even Craig Foster would have to be impressed.

I was with my son in Bay 11 (north-west corner) and to be honest, we couldn't hear the Marinators at all. I've been offline for a while, so I didn't realise the Marinators were moving to Bay 1. Imagine my horror to arrive at Bluetongue and face a virtually empty Bay 16! Over 5000 there tonight? I don't think so ...

Stoked that I let the daughter convince me to go down tonight.  Even in the rain, with stuff all there and those cheating bastards falling over every time someone looked at them I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

For what its worth

Danny ... only had to do 3 things all night and when it counted he f**ked it up.  Seriously since he hi-5ed Shields what has he done?  Time for him to be told to smarten up or be let go.  There's no space for sentimentality anymore.
Wilko and Boogs ... can't complain.  Thought they did ok.
Clarke ... it's a good job he's fit.  All those runs down the wing he made in the 2nd half to be completely free and ignored by everyone - what a waste of time.
Bojic ... no complaints
Heff ... hasn't recovered since the Sydney game.  See the smarten up comment for Danny
Hutch ... please go to Malta and don't f**ken come back you muppet.  Absolutely useless.  Learn where the goal is.
Elrich ... hadn't seen him play before.  I was impressed.
Caceres ... twinkletoes but the Chinese didn't know what to do with him.  Good effort.  Nice foul towards the end.
Kwassie ... no complaints
Porter ... too little to mention

And the Oscar goes to Osman.  Did little except fall over and take the piss out of the Chinese.  Gave him a standing ovation.  Absolute classic.  Good luck on the Gold Coast.

McKinna ... How long do you need to wait to make a sub ffs.  You're 1 nil down.  You can't make it to the next round.  Who gives a frog's fat one who plays?  Clear the bench!!!  Time to do what you're paid for or step down.

The ref ... did a decent job.  Good advantage, didn't fall for any of the crap being dealt out. 


So now it's time to do the rebuilding we were told was going to happen.  Start playing trial games and hardening the f**k up.

Well any prospective new signing who the club were hoping to impress tonight has probably left the ground with a "I'll call you, we'll do lunch" and will never be seen again.

As for tonight, sort of a pre season friendly with a little bit of added niggle. We are trying to change our style and as I said before, half decent footballers would make it work.

Danny - needs competition and a spell on the bench. Get Bozza.

Wilko - Ok really

Clarky - gave 100%, worked his arse off with no support really

Heff - Lets say quiet and leave it at that. Couldnt be arsed by the look of it. Does he think he's too good?

Pedj - FFS never ever play him in CM again

Hutch - Going from bad to worse. Absolute disgrace. Is now taking the piss. Crowd now really on his back and he deserves it - man up or f**k off

Ossie - Solid as always, we will miss him I fear. Class at the end.

Elrich - Still looks v unfit and easing himself in - wouldnt really back himself and remains to be seen if pace has gone

Kwassie - worked his socks off, looked out "most" dangerous player but just not an out and out striker

Caceres - Quality footballer, needs better players around him.

thought that ref was absolutely great, he didn't take any of the diving crap and tried to keep the game flowing as much as possible
danny- didn't have much to do but stuffed up when he did
clark- provided great runs down the line and looked ok but crosses weren't great
Wilko-better then he has been before but not that great
boogs- same as wilko
heff- had rare flashes of his previous best but this was overshadowed by his stuff ups
Hutch- just no
Pedj- started out shaking and then didn't do much, cm is not his position
Osman- looked like one of the better players and i enjoyed watching him
Elrich- still coming back from injury and showed some good signs
Adrian- first half was on fire and looked really dangerous, had great runs but faded in the second
Kwasnik- had some good chances and was unlucky on a few

porter- didn't ave much time to shine

thought it was great that we were playing a short passing style but we jut lacked that killer instinct in the final third and we couldn't capitalise on those chances. I hope we play similar from now on but add some finishing to the end of the build up play
Marinators- awesome, heard all the chants from the eastern side and hope it stays similar to that
