ccmfans.net is the Central Coast Mariners fan community, and was formed in 2004, so basically the beginning of time for the Mariners. Things have changed a lot over the years, but one thing has remained constant and that is our love of the Mariners. People come and go, some like to post a lot and others just like to read. It's up to you how you participate in the community!

If you want to get rid of this message, simply click on Join Now or head over to https://www.ccmfans.net/community/register/ to join the community! It only takes a few minutes, and joining will let you post your thoughts and opinions on all things Mariners, Football, and whatever else pops into your mind. If posting is not your thing, you can interact in other ways, including voting on polls, and unlock options only available to community members.

ccmfans.net is not only for Mariners fans either. Most of us are bonded by our support for the Mariners, but if you are a fan of another club (except the Scum, come on, we need some standards), feel free to join and get into some banter.

If the Mariners were to make the semis then go all the way and win the toilet seat, surely it would have to prove to the FFA once and for all what a joke the finals series is, esp. a 6-team one. We could win that toilet seat from here on, but the Mariners certainly wouldn't deserve to be seen as the 'best' team of the season.
Would still take the toliet seat if we won it

QFT. I'm done with deserving better and getting worse. I'd be perfectly happy to jammily nick a big f**king trophy and have everyone else complaining about the injustice of it all. We get too many opportunities to whinge, I want an opportunity to gloat however little we deserve it.

And it'd keep Graham Fucking Arnold out of our club too. ;)

Doesn't the Premiership plate go to the best team of the season? At least that was what we were saying when we won it in 08.

Not too fussed with this season. Id be embarassed to be in the finals having finished in sixth and not even winning half of our games.

Why? That doesnt really make sense? Most people here show alot of interest travelling even to pre season games. I cant understand why playing a competitive game, with everything on the line would be embarressing? They, for me, are the best games.

Id take a 1-0 win over the scum in the one-legged semi over a 1-nil win in the league anyday for excitement, (with the only note being a final day chance to win the league against them, which ofcourse then becomes a game with everything on the line)

The 6th position this year looks like it will go to the least shit side out of us, Perth & Roar. It is the same as the 8th position in the nrl finals and that team has generally had a crappy year and bows out early in the finals. However look at last year when Parra came 8th and made it all the way to the GF and all the positive stories and media that came out of their run in. If we could achieve the same it would be a timely boost to the club and help with crowds, merchandising etc for next year. Australians love a fairytale finish so if we do scrape in I hope we make a good fist of it.

But again, there's still drama. With SFC likely to come 3rd at this stage, a single leg playoff at the SFS between CCM or PGFC wouldn't be a cakewalk at all.

Actually, now that you mention it - even if we just scrape through, there's always the possibility of ending both our neighbours' seasons in successive weeks on the way to getting reamed by the new bling in the prelim. What a laugh that would be!

I think they're a show but I think the coach has given up. The reason for letting go of McBreen was that they were building for next year and he wanted to give Dahl a good crack and he was surplus to requirements. I know Downey fills a trouble spot for them in defence but I wouldn't have let go of McBreen if you are still trying to make the finals. He put in a bad 5 min against us but he looked like he was having a go every other time he took the field.

You can do both at once. I dont think Mcbreen is that far ahead of daal, i think alot would say it is the other way, and you can build for next season whilst also concentrating on the current campaign

I like how in this thread we are discussing how we will handle fairy-tale success.

football is about fairytales. Every year is a tale of frustration and woe, except this year.

And why are we here? Because the hope is stronger (and worse) than the pain. It keeps you in, you can't leave it. The highs are too high to forsake for the fear that this won't be our time.

The man speaks the truth.

I went to 5 cup finals in 10 years to watch my team lose them all (favourites in most of them too)........then the c**ts won one after I came to Oz!

The party back there was one to be remembered (c**ts kept phoning me all night)!

The optimism's starting to come back........c'mon CCM another 3-0 tomorrow will do nicely  ;D
